14.3.3-2 雷音和西福 Thor and Sif

 

北欧传说中有这么一段喜剧。雷音一觉醒来,发现他的锤子不见了。他自己认为是丢在了某地遇见的两个女人西福(Sif)和她的姐姐那里了。奇怪了!? 前文14.3.2《金刚萨锤》说雷音的三个锤子分别是雷音,睚眦(即亚当)和磨牙(即夏娃)的头,这是哪个锤子丢了?当然是雷音的头了,这时雷音正在为生下女儿磨牙而寻找妻子。

插图14.3.3.2-1是《墨西哥法典》中的重生之母蔻忑鹠鸺 (Coatlicue)在向女儿翠玉女展示如何偷取墨西哥的头。西福就是那样偷走了雷音的头。这和后文雷音的女儿磨牙偷走了睚眦的心是一样的概念。

There is such a comedy in the Norse legend. Thor woke up and found that his hammer was missing. He thought he had lost it with two women, Sif and her sister, whom he met somewhere. Strange!? The previous article 15.3.2 "Philosopher-Stone Sentient Hammer" said that Thor's three hammers are the heads of Thor, Tanngnjóstr (i.e. Adam), and Tanngrisnir (i.e. Eve). Which hammer was lost? Of course it was Thor's head. At this time, Thor was looking for a wife to have his daughter Tanngrisnir born. 

Illustration 14.3.3.2-1 shows the rebirth mother Coatlicue in Mexican Codex showing to her daughter, Chalchiuhtlicue, how she stole Mexico’s head. That is how Sif stole Thor’s head. This is the same concept as the later part where Thor's daughter Tanngrisnir stole Tanngnjóstr’s heart.


雷音告诉络基说:“没有别人知道锤子被偷了!” 俩人去向女神芙蕾雅(Freya)寻求帮助。雷音询问是否可以借用她的羽毛斗篷(如图14.3.3.2-2)。芙蕾雅回答:“可以借给你,即便她是金子和银子做的!” 芙蕾雅是什么意思?羽毛斗篷代表女戒(参见15.2节),是女人顺解脱的道路,此处就是芙蕾雅。也就是芙蕾雅回答:“当然可以借给你,因为我芙蕾雅是你妈桥德用金子和银子为你造的!” 她生气了。

Thor told Loki, "No one else knows that the hammer was stolen!" The two went to the goddess Freya for help. Thor asked if he could borrow her feather cloak (see Figure 14.3.3.2-2). Freya replied, "I can lend it to you, even if it is made of gold and silver!" What does Freya mean? The feather cloak represents Woman Precept (cf. 15.2), the path of correct sequential liberation for women, in this case Freya. That is, Freya replied, “Of course you can lend me, for I, Freya, was made for you of gold and silver by your mother, Jord!” She got angry.

经过协商,雷音同意将来让芙蕾雅担任磨牙的教母,仍然是制造羊车组织的重要成员,芙蕾雅高兴了。就这样,雷音和芙蕾雅结束了名誉上的恋爱状态,将帮助雷音娶到西福。有了芙蕾雅的帮助,这次雷音在追求女孩子的事情上就更有实力了。落基就立刻出发,去寻找西福了。

After some negotiation, Thor agreed to have Freya serve as the godmother of Tanngrisnir (i.e. Eve) in the future, still be a key member of the organization that makes the goat vehicle. Freya was pleased. With that, Thor and Freya ended their honorary relationship status, and she will help Thor marry Sif. With Freya's help, this time Thor is much more powerful in his pursuit of girls. Loki then immediately set off in search of Sif.

注1,这时羊车教的设计有些改变,西福(Sif)不是一位玉女型人,而是一位女英,婆罗门 (猪利私人)。她是运动思维型偏于用语音来思考的人。后来她的女儿紫蕗德(磨牙)也是一位女英型人。后面的故事中,紫蕗德总是没有芙蕾雅聪明,非常羡慕她的智慧。

Note 1: At this point, the design of the Goat Vehicle Religion undergoes some changes. Sif is not a Jade Girl type but rather as a heroine, a Brahman (Jurists). She is a kinesthetic thinker who tends to process thoughts through sound. Later, her daughter, Thrud (Tanngrisnir), also embodies the heroine archetype. In subsequent narratives, Thrud consistently appears less intelligent than Freyja and deeply envies her wisdom.

络基寻找西福到了约顿海姆。当地的部族首领猪利私·婆罗门正坐在一辆古董车上,为他的母狗编金项圈,看到落基后问:“好像爱色人(对雷音的鄙视)和绿精灵(义指芙蕾雅,如图6)之间有些矛盾;你怎么来我们这里了?” 

Loki went to Jotunheim in search of Sif. The local tribal leader Jurists Brahman was sitting in an antique car, making a golden collar for his female dog. When he saw Loki, he asked, "It seems that there is some conflict between the I-sir (despising to Thor) and the Green Genie (referring to Freya, see fig. 6); why did you come to us?"

聊了几句后,落基说:“有个坏消息,雷音的锤子丢了!” 猪利私说他将金刚萨锤(义指西福)藏在了八忍地(即忍渡,参见16.3.2),雷音只有把芙蕾雅带来作为他的新娘才能拿回他的锤子。

After chatting for a while, Loki said, "Bad news, Thor's hammer is lost!" Jurists said that he hid the Philosopher-Stone Sentient Hammer (referring to Sif) in the Eight Countenance Lands (i.e., Countenance Ark, see 16.3.2), and Thor could only get his hammer back if he brought Freya as his bride.

雷音和络基再次来找芙蕾雅,一见面就催促她换上新娘妆,说要送她去约顿海姆做猪利私·婆罗门的新娘。芙蕾雅勃然大怒,爱色人的所有大厅(注3)都因愤怒而颤抖。她的项链,著名的布里辛加门,从她身上散落了下来。芙蕾雅意有所指地拒绝了。

Thor and Loki returned to Freyja and tell her to put on a bridal head dress, as they will drive her to Jötunheimr to be Jurists Brahman’s bride. Freyja, indignant and angry, goes into a rage, causing all the halls of the I-sirs to tremble in her anger, and her necklace, the famed Brisingamen, falls from her. Freyja pointedly refuses.

注3,爱色人是作者我对古德语Æsir的翻译。我的理解这个词的第一个字母可以翻译成英文的我“I” ,即转移身见,参见10.4.4.1.4《根本烦恼》。爱色人就是 “我人” ,包括所有还没成佛的人。文章中的 “大厅” 义为 “心房” 。所以这句话的意思是, “在场的和本文读者中还没觉悟成佛的所有人的心房都被雷音的鲁莽行为气得颤抖了” 。

Note 3: “I-sir” is my translation of the Old German word Æsir. My understanding is that the first letter of this word can be translated into English as "I”, referring to the “translocation body view”, see 10.4.4.1.4, “Fundamental Annoyances”. I-sirs refers to "I-people”, including all those who have not yet attained “Correct Equality Light” (see section 14.1). The word "hall" in this passage means "heart chamber”. So, the meaning of this sentence is, "The hearts of all those present and those reading this text who have not yet attained enlightenment were trembling with anger at Thor’s reckless behavior."

众神开始商议如何找回雷音的锤子(如图3)。首先由作者我向读者简单介绍一下他们遇到的困难。雷音造羊车,就是制造睚眦(即亚当)和磨牙(即夏娃),然后用夏娃钩住亚当,让他们俩来拉他的羊车。雷音的母亲桥德帮雷音造出了一位能生夏娃的女神,名作芙蕾雅。可是芙蕾雅拒绝嫁给雷音,于是羊车的建造工程陷入了停顿。

The gods began to discuss (Figure 3) how to retrieve Thor's hammer (i.e., to continue the construction of Goat Vehicle). First, please allow author Adam Luyan to brief the difficulties they encountered to readers. Thor was making Goat Vehicle by making Tanngnjóstr (i.e. Adam) and Tanngrisnir (i.e. Eve), then to hook up Adam with Eve, so that the two of them could pull the goat vehicle. Thor's mother Jord helped Thor create a goddess who could give birth to Eve, named Freya. But Freya refused to marry Thor, so the construction of Goat Vehicle came to a halt.

此时,猪利私·婆罗门看到了机会,用他自己培养的 “能生夏娃的女神” 西福诱惑雷音。雷音准备将计就计把西福娶过来,继续羊车的建设。可是猪利私的条件是只能用芙蕾雅交换,而且限期三个月。芙蕾雅再次拒绝了雷音的请求,拒绝嫁给猪利私。猪利私说他已经把西福放进了 “忍渡” (参见16.3.2),不久后西福就不适合作为夏娃的母亲了。忍渡是把亚当炼成金刚的熔炉。若把夏娃的母亲放在里面,她很快就会失去 “不可战胜” 的锐气,那她生的夏娃就是钝钩了,钩不住亚当了。所以雷音着急了。

At this time, Jurists Brahman saw an opportunity and used Sif, a "goddess who can give birth to Eve" that he had cultivated himself, to seduce Thor. Thor was ready to take Sif and continue the construction of the goat vehicle. But the Jurists' condition was that he could only exchange for Freya, and within three months. Freya once again rejected Thor's request, refused to marry a Jurists. Jurists said that he had put Sif in the "Countenance Ark" (cf. 16.3.2), Sif would not be suitable to be Eve's mother soon. "Countenance Ark" is the kiln that refines Adam into Philosopher-Stone. If Eve's mother was put in there, she would soon lose her "aura of invincibility", and the Eve she gave birth to would be like a blunt hook that could not catch Adam. So, Thor was anxious.

众神们商议,想找到解决的办法。最后,众神的决议是让雷音扮芙蕾雅去嫁给猪利私·婆罗门(如图4)。开始雷音不同意,众神说,这是唯一可行的办法,雷音顺从了。

The gods were discussing and trying to find a solution. At last, the resolution of the gods was for Thor to pretend to be Freya to marry to the Jurists Brahman (as in Figure 4). At first Thor did not agree, the gods said that this was the only feasible way, Thor complied reluctantly.

经过多天的风餐露宿,在一天的傍晚,他们到达了婚礼现场。在他们支起帐篷时,雷音让仆人在棚里铺满稻草,说是芙蕾雅(义指西福)就要来了。果然很快,西福和她的姐姐带领着仆人们送来了欢迎的鲜花,礼品,和新鲜的食物饮料等。据说当时,雷音用他的金刚指把西福姐妹俩逗得把大脑都笑出来了。金刚指是什么?你没注意到本文都是精心组装的案例吗!所以佛教中说雷音的手指是金刚指。

After many days of traveling in the wind and rain, they arrived at the wedding site one evening. As they set up their tents, Thor told the servants to spread straw all over the shed, saying that Freya (referring to Sif) was coming. Sure enough, soon afterward, Sif and her sister led the servants in bringing welcome flowers, gifts, and fresh food and drink. It is said that Thor used his Philosopher-Stone Fingers to make the Sif sisters laugh their brains out. What's a Philosopher-Stone finger? Haven't you noticed that this article is all carefully crafted juristic cases! That's why it is said in Buddhism that Thor’s fingers are Philosopher-Stone Fingers.

随后,雷音在西福的姐姐的膝盖上发现了雷音之锤。什么意思?足是基础,根基,原因的意思。意思是,西福的姐姐是个很有知识的人,对西福有很强的影响力,可以帮助雷音教导西福,在建造羊车的工程中发挥重要的作用。

Thor then found his Hammer on the lap of Sif's sister. What does it mean? Foot means foundation, root, cause. It means that Sif's sister is a very knowledgeable person who had a strong influence on Sif, so, she can help Thor teach Sif and play an important role in the project of building the goat vehicle.

进入婚礼的礼堂后,猪利私·婆罗门讲述了他珍爱的动物和物品,并表示弗雷雅是他财富中唯一缺少的 “女宝”。没过多久猪利私就敦促随从,婚礼按礼仪安排进行。

Upon entering the wedding hall, Jurists Brahman describes his prized animals and objects, and states that Freya is the only “woman treasure” missing from his wealth.

当女战神西福晃动着雷音多年前设计的 “雷鼓瓮金锤” 对他这位新娘进行  “圣化” 时,他愤怒地扯下了新娘的头盖。旁边猪利私的姐姐意识到被戏弄了,过去打雷音。雷音把她推开了。猪利私的姐姐没想到雷音敢动手打她,再次冲向雷音。这次雷音可真生气了,直接把她从主席台上推了下去。

When the goddess of war, Sif, “sanctified” the bride by swinging the “thunder drum urn golden hammer” that Thor had designed many years before, he angrily ripped off the bride's head covering. The Jurists' sister realized that her brother was being teased and went to hit Thor, who pushed her away. The Jurists’ sister, not realizing that Thor dared to hit her, rushed at Thor again. This time Thor was angry and pushed her off the podium.

猪利私·婆罗门看见雷音在打自己的姐姐,愤怒了,拔出了剑,冲向雷音。络基朝着猪利私的护卫大喊,“有刺客”。猪利私的护卫立刻过去抓住了猪利私。这时,络基请来的军队听见了喊声,破门而入。猪利私被侍卫们抬着离开了婚礼现场。

Jurists Brahman saw that Thor was beating his sister and became angry, drew his sword and went toward Thor. Loki shouted towards Jurists’ guards, “Guards! Assassins!” Jurists’ guards immediately went over and caught Jurists. At that moment, the army invited by Loki heard the shouts and broke down the door. Jurists Brahman was carried away from the wedding site by his guards.

当士兵清理战场时,发现猪利私的姐姐的头撞到了墙角的石头,死了。整个礼堂立刻安静了下来;人们才真正地意识到 “出事了”!军队的首领对络基说:“你们带着属于你们的东西立刻离开,我让一队士兵带着这两个女人(西福和她的姐姐)作为人质,护送你们。我们尽可能停留在这里长些时间,以便当猪利私发现他姐姐死了,追赶你们时,你们已经走远了。

When the soldiers cleared the battlefield, they found that Jurists’ sister had hit her head on a stone in the corner and was dead. Immediately the whole auditorium fell silent; people really realized that “something was wrong”! The leader of the army said to Loki, “Take what belongs to you and leave immediately; I'll have a group of soldiers escort you with these two women (Sif and her sister) as hostages. We will stay here as long as possible so that when Jurists realizes that his sister is dead and pursues you, you will have gone far away.

雷音他们刚离开,猪利私·婆罗门就带着军队赶了回来。这时,络基邀请来的军队也移动到了婚礼现场的旁边。猪利私的将军要求络基的军队交出猪利私的姐姐。络基的军队说我们双方队伍的距离太近,你们先向后撤。双方僵持,谁都不让。

据说,雷音往回跑的路上,在岔路上选择了向回家反方向的道路,多出了很多的行程。

As soon as Thor had left, Jurists Brahman rushed back with his army. At this time, the army invited by Loki also moved to the side of the wedding site. Jurists’ general demanded that Loki's army hand over Jurists’ sister. Loki's army said that both our ranks are too close to each other, so you withdraw backward first. Both sides were at a standstill and neither side would allow it. 

It is said that on his way back; Thor chose the road at the fork in the road in the opposite direction towards home and traveled a lot more.

14.3.3-1 雷音与芙蕾雅 Thor and Freya

 

在北欧的传说中,母亲桥德(又名佛理格)常常带着雷音旅行。她在选择雷音未来的妻子,在选择未来孙女磨牙(即夏娃)母亲的事上遇到了困难,为什么?

In the Nordic legend, mother Jord (aka. Frigg) often traveled with Thor. She encountered difficulties in choosing Thor's future wife and the mother of her future granddaughter, Tanngrisnir (i.e. Eve), why?

前文鹿乘教中说了雅典娜(即玉女,夏娃)是女宝;她的外貌,语音思维,觉悟的特质都是母系遗传的。而且雷音要造人从而成为上帝,即大日如来,如来现起他受用,雷音活不长,所以雷音未来的妻子要继承雷音的事业,是国家未来的摄政王。所以,夏娃的母亲也是女宝,对于想造人的神来说,相当于入场券。

The previous article in the Deer Vehicle Religion said that Athena (i.e. Jade Girl, Eve) is a woman treasure; her appearance, word thinking, and conscientiousness were all inherited from her mother. Moreover, Thor wants to become a god, that is, the Great Sun Tathagata. The Tathagata’s manifestation is for other to use, and Thor would not live long, so Thor's future wife will inherit his career and would be the future regent of the country. Therefore, Eve’s mother is also a Woman Treasure, which is equivalent to an admission ticket for those Gods who want to create man.

据说,一次在母亲和雷音的旅行途中,收到了报告,桥德决定改变行程,绕路,增加了15天的行程去拜访芙蕾雅的父母。途中,桥德给雷音讲芙蕾雅的生活故事,言语中非常赞赏他的这位小表妹。在芙蕾雅家,她的父母热烈地欢迎了桥德女士和侄子雷音。桥德像是对待女士一样问候了芙蕾雅。雷音第一次看见了芙蕾雅这位六岁的小表妹。

It is said that once when the mother and Thor were traveling, they received a report and Jord decided to change the itinerary, take a detour, add 15 days to the trip to visit Freya's parents. On the way, the mother told Thor the story of Freya's life and praised this little cousin very much. At Freya's home, her parents warmly welcomed Ms. Jord and their nephew Thor. Jord greeted Freya as if she were a lady. Thor saw Freya, his six-year-old cousin, for the first time.

在一边,芙蕾雅主动地找雷音说话。书中交代,芙蕾雅是一位夏娃类型的人,在她的世界里没有陌生人。

芙蕾雅悄悄地对雷音说:“你妈妈真好看!我一看见她,就感觉一阵风吹过了我的身体里,怎么回事?就只是我有这种感觉吗!?”

雷音惊讶地听了芙蕾雅的问话,认真地回答:“我妈妈是一位公主(即女神),大部分和她不熟的人见到她都会有这种感觉,你居然立刻注意到了!”

On the side, Freya took the initiative to talk to Thor. The book explains that Freya is an Eve-type person, and there are no strangers in her world.

Freya whispered to Thor: "Your mother is so beautiful! When I saw her, I felt a gust of wind blowing through my body. What's going on? Am I the only one who feels this way!?"

Thor was surprised to hear Freya's question and answered seriously: "My mother is a Public Princess (i.e. a goddess). Most people who are not familiar with her will feel this way when they see her. You noticed it immediately!"

芙蕾雅兴奋了,又问:“啊!阿姨是女神,那你是神吗?”

雷音听后,惊讶变成了尴尬,这是他最大的缺点,发现母亲和其他人都在看他们俩,聆听他们的谈话。他认真地回答:“在这方面,我不是神。戒渡那东西需要常常练习,我懒惰,不喜欢练习 ‘三千威仪八万四千细行’(参见15.2节)。”

芙蕾雅认真地思考了雷音的回答后,又问:“阿姨的女神魅力是学来的;那我能学吗?”

Freya was excited and asked again: "Ah! Auntie is a goddess, so are you a god?"

After hearing this, Thor's surprise turned into embarrassment. This was his biggest shortcoming. He found that his mother and others were watching the two of them and listening to their conversation. He answered seriously: "In this regard, I am not a god. Covenant Ark requires constant practice. I am lazy and don't like to practice ‘3,000 Majesties 84,000 Enchantments’ (see section 15.2)."

After Freya thought carefully about Thor's answer, she asked again: "Auntie's goddess charms are learned, can I learn it?"

雷音发现人们都在等待着听自己的回答,看了看芙蕾雅的父母,说:“是的!我妈妈的五百威仪十万八千魅力是她在你这个年龄的时候,去学校学来的。你当然能学。不过成为女神与容貌和性格有关,如果没有女神的容貌,很难练成夏娃的黄金甲。前些日子,我们的国家出台了新政策,尚学,放宽了对女神容貌的要求,所有的女人都可以学习女戒。只要肯学习,认真练习,你至少可以练成羽毛斗篷,成为一名公主。”

Thor found that people were waiting to hear his answer, looked at Freya's parents, and said: " Yes! My mother's 500 majesties and 108,000 charms were learned when she went to school at your age now. Of course you can learn it. But becoming a goddess is related to appearance and personality. If a woman doesn't have the appearance of a goddess, it is difficult to achieve Eve's golden armor. A few days ago, our country introduced a new policy, which is to promote learning and broadened the requirements for goddess appearance; all women can learn Woman Precept. As long as you are willing to learn and practice seriously, you can at least achieve the feather cloak and become a public princess."

Illustration 14.3.3-1-1 is a monument built by the Norse people for Jord (aka. Frigg). The two children are Thor and Freya.

谈话中,桥德得知芙蕾雅的父亲在县政府工作,正在努力调动工作到另一个部门,问:“我记得我的表哥XXX是这里做你们这种工作的,你认识不?”

芙蕾雅的父亲羞涩地回答:“他是市政府里负责我们这个部门的人;我认识他,但他不认识我。”

桥德说:“啊!那我给他写封信,说一下你的情况,看看他是否能帮到你。”

During the conversation, Jord learned that Freya's father worked in the county government and was trying to transfer to another department. She asked: "I remember my cousin XXX does the same job as you do here. Do you know him?"

Freya's father shyly replied: "He is the person in charge of our department in the city government; I know him, but he doesn't know me."

Jord said, "Ah! Then I will write him a letter to tell him about your situation, see if he can help you."

一些天后,芙蕾雅的父亲被提升到了他所申请的部门当经理,感觉自己没能力管理那个组织,是领导安排错了,就去问。

领导回答:“没错!你的职位提升是县组织部的主席安排的。为此他来了两次了。第一次来,他说同意你的工作调动申请。第二天,他又来了,说前几天他去市里开会,XXX找他谈话,询问你的情况,说你是他的亲戚。主席琢磨了几天了,认为你是书香世家出身,品德和学识都很好,是我们没能把你放到关键的岗位上培训你。他决定以后依次安排你到几个关键岗位,五年或者七年之后,你就有资历当县长了。”

A few days later, Freya's father was promoted to the manager of the department he applied for. He felt that he was incapable of managing the organization and thought that the leader had made a wrong arrangement, so he went to ask.

The leader replied: "That's right! Your promotion was arranged by the chairman of the county organization department. He came twice for this. The first time, he said he agreed to your job transfer application. The next day, he came again and said that he went to the city for a meeting a few days ago, XXX talked to him and asked about your situation, saying that you are his relative. The chairman has been thinking about it for a few days and thinks that you come from a scholarly family, with good moral character and knowledge. It is us who failed to put you in the key positions to train you. He decided to arrange you to several key positions in the future. After five or seven years, you will be qualified to be the county prefect."

在桥德和雷音离开后,芙蕾雅就想去贵族学校,成为公主(即女神)。父母打听那种学校是怎么回事,哪里有。听说,那种公主是业林(业林是佛教社区的名字)制度中的头衔。那种学校叫亚马逊,需要有佛作学监,有些课程需要佛(八地至十地的菩萨;参见第15章)亲自教授,学费非常贵。

After Jord and Thor left, Freya wanted to go to an aristocratic school and become a public princess (i.e., a goddess). Her parents asked about that kind of school and where it was. They heard that the public princess was a title in the system of “Karmic Forest” (note, Karmic Forest is the name of Buddhist community). That kind of school is called Amazon, and it needs a Buddha as the supervisor. Some courses need to be taught by the Buddha (Bodhisattva of the eighth to tenth land; see Chapter 15) in person, and the tuition is very expensive.

芙蕾雅听说父母没钱,负担不起亚马逊的学费,就自己去找一个有钱的舅舅借钱去了,对舅舅说:“雷音哥哥说,我可以学习女戒。说或许我的容貌不完全符合女神,或许不能练成夏娃那样的黄金甲:刀枪不入,把攻击者反弹到天上去。但我至少可以练成羽毛斗篷,成为一位公主。到那时我会像桥德姑姑那样,赚很多贵重金属和颜色鲜艳的小石头。”

When Freya heard that her parents had no money and could not afford the tuition for Amazon, she went to borrow money from her rich uncle and said to her uncle, "Brother Thor said that I can learn the Woman Precept. He said that maybe my appearance is not completely like a goddess, and maybe I can't achieve the golden armor like Eve: swords and spears mean her no harm, bouncing attackers to sky. But at least I can achieve the feather cloak and become a public princess. By then, I will make a lot of precious metals and colorful small stones like Aunt Jord."

舅舅给她出主意:“我也没有那么多的钱,即便我有,钱帮不上你。外面的佛比足球场上的土豆子都多,我们找不到合适的学校。现实的办法是,你给桥德姑姑写信,向她表达你要跟她学习女神的愿望。我们并不对她出钱送你去亚马逊抱有希望,但是你会给桥德姑姑留下个好印象。或许几年后,她收你做个侍女;你跟她学女戒,那你在成为公主的道路上就不走冤枉路。”

Her uncle gave her some advice: "I don't have that much money, and even if I did, the money couldn't help you. There are more Buddhas out there than potatoes in the football field, so we can't find a proper school. The realistic way is for you to write to Aunt Jord and express your desire to learn about goddesses from her. We don't hold out hope that she will pay to send you to the Amazon, but you will leave a good impression on Aunt Jord. Maybe in a few years, she will accept you as a maid; if you learn the “Woman Precept” from her, you won't go the wrong way on the road to becoming a public princess."

没多久,芙蕾雅的父母收到了桥德的回信,说:“我可以支付芙蕾雅参加亚马逊的学费。条件是,我们不说为芙蕾雅和雷音订婚了,但我们两家会努力促成他们俩将来成为夫妻。如此,我送芙蕾雅去亚马逊的费用就算是我投资在了我未来儿媳妇的身上。” 芙蕾雅父母认为,雷音那孩子很好,我们尘世间百姓不介意私生子的事,就同意了桥德的建议。就这样,芙蕾雅去了亚马逊。

Not long after, Freya's parents received a reply from Jord, saying: "I can pay for Freya's tuition to attend Amazon. The condition is that we will not say that Freya and Thor are engaged, but our two families will work hard to make them become husband and wife in the future. In this way, the cost of sending Freya to Amazon can be regarded as an investment in my future daughter-in-law." Freya's parents thought that Thor was a good child, and we ordinary people in the mundane world did not mind illegitimate children, so they agreed to Jord's suggestion. In this way, Freya went to Amazon.

在芙蕾雅十几岁时,在一次篝火晚会上,爱上了表哥奥德,常去找表哥玩。父母知道后,反对,不许她去表哥家。奥德的父母对此很不满,去族里的长老会表示抗议。长老们认为芙蕾雅的父母不应该干预芙蕾雅和奥德的事。芙蕾雅的父母为了旅行对桥德的承诺,向桥德报告了此事。

When Freya was a teenager, she fell in love with her cousin Odur at a bonfire party and often went to play with him. When her parents found out, they objected and did not allow her to go to her cousin's house. Odur's parents were very dissatisfied with this and went to the elders' meeting to protest. The elders believed that Freya's parents should not interfere in the affairs between Freya and Odur. To fulfill their promise to Jord, Freya's parents reported the affair to Jord.

Later, some boys in the community found jobs abroad. Not long after, through some social connections, Odur also got a job opportunity far away. It was said that it was a civil servant job. Although it didn't make much money, it could learn some life skills. If Odur did well, he could be promoted step by step. By the age of 40, he could become a gentleman. Odur accepted the job and left his hometown (see figure 3). Not long after, all the boys in the community found jobs in Odin's (the father of Thor) country; Freya rarely went home since.

芙蕾雅在18岁时,通过了 “羽毛斗篷的飞行考试” 成为了一名国家和社会都认可的公主(女神),开始赚贵金属和颜色鲜艳的小石头了。她的父母忽然发现她仍然在和奥德通信,在奥德假期回家时约会,可吓坏了,为什么?

At the age of 18, Freya passed the "feather cloak flight test" and became a public princess (goddess) recognized by the country and society, beginning to earn precious metals and colorful small stones. Her parents suddenly found that she was still communicating with Odur and dating him when he came home during vacations. They were terrified. Why?

这时芙蕾雅的父亲已经是家乡的县长了,懂得和神签订的契约必须付诸实施。他知道桥德培养芙蕾雅成为女神的目的是想招她做儿媳妇,若知道奥德是芙蕾雅的情人,会杀了他。人死的原因有很多,其他的人永远也不会知道奥德是怎么死的。他把自己的担忧告诉了女儿芙蕾雅。芙蕾雅这种人成熟得比较早,立刻认识到了问题的严重性:“我正在制造奥德的不幸(如图2,3,4)!”

At this time, Freya's father was already the county chief of his hometown. He knew that the contract signed with the gods must be implemented. He knew that Jord's purpose of training Freya to become a goddess was to recruit her as his daughter-in-law. If she knew that Odur was Freya's lover, she would kill him. There are many reasons for people to die, and other people will never know how Odur died. He told his daughter Freya about his worries. Freya matured early and immediately realized the seriousness of the problem: "I am creating misfortune for Odur (see Figures 2, 3, and 4)!"

当然,芙蕾雅是个聪明人,她立刻去讨好雷音,不让母亲桥德对她和雷音的婚姻感到绝望。雷音忽然觉得自己开始发光了,但不是在作为太阳神照耀自己创造的三千大千世界,而只是支灯笼在为芙蕾雅和奥德这对情人照亮。雷音的羊车建设陷入了停顿。

Of course, Freya is a smart person. She immediately went to please Thor to prevent her mother Jord from despairing about her marriage with Thor. Thor suddenly felt that he began to shine, but he was not shining as the sun god on the Three-Grand Great-Grand Worlds he created, but just a lantern to illuminate the lovers Freya and Odur. Thor's Goat Vehicle construction stalled.

14.3.2 王舍城和金刚萨陲 King House City and Philosopher-Stone Sentient Hammer

 

北欧的传说,有一段时间,雷音每天要趟过两条河去到生命之树的顶端做法官(如图14.3.2-37,38),而他的对手爱色(I-sir)人却是通过彩虹桥(如图37上部)去的。

雷音所趟过的两条河义为两条众生河,就是图34和33所示的秽土和中土。

According to Nordic legend, there was a time when Thor had to wade through two rivers every day to go to the top of the Tree of Life to be a judge (as shown in Figure 14.3.2-37, 38), while his opponent, the I-sirs, went there through the Rainbow Bridge (as shown in the upper part of Figure 37).

The two rivers Thor waded through represent the two sentient rivers, namely Filthy Soil and Middle Earth as shown in Figures 34 and 33.

爱色(I-sir)人是认为 “无所有天”(如图2)中存在神或什么东西的人。佛教认为 “无所有天” 就是人脑思维机制的常,无名,无数,无量,故名无所有(参见14.1节)。

爱色(I-sir)人所用的彩虹桥就是佛教中的金钢桥,亦作到达方舟。到达方舟是由涅槃驱动的。读者当知,涅槃不空,方舟不会有效果。佛教的解脱理论像似机械一样精密,容不得模糊,一切都是绝对的!

I-sirs believe that there are gods or something in the "No Objectively Have Sky" (as shown in Figure 2). Buddhism believes that the "No Objectively Have Sky" is the constant of mind mechanism, nameless, countless, and immeasurable, hence the name "No Objectively Have Sky" (see section 14.1).

The rainbow bridge used by I-sir is the Philosopher-Stone Bridge in Buddhism, also known as the Ark of Arrival. The Ark of Arrival is driven by Nirvana. Readers should know that without Nirvana, the Ark will be ineffective. Buddhist theories of liberation are as precise as a machine, allowing no ambiguity; everything is absolute!

雷音所造的世界名为大千世界(参见第12章),象征符号是 “卍”(如图35)。“卍”义为十亿尘刹土(参见13.1节),吉祥。吉祥是涅槃(如图2)和拯救的别名。

The world created by Thor is called “Great Grand World” (see Chapter 12), and its symbol is “卍” (see Figure 35). “卍” means “one billion dust instant soils” (see Section 13.1), auspicious. Auspicious is another name for Nirvana (see Figure 2) and salvation.


 2. 王舍城 King's House City

依据北欧的传说,雷音设计的世界分三层,如图38所示,在本书系统中称作三昧地(梵语Samadhi),分别是图34,33,和32。中间的部分雷音称作Midgard,是二昧地,华人文化和佛教中称作中土。图38中间的山就是雷音设计的睚眦山(即罗汉山,德意志山)。

雷音在大千世界中建设了三个家,把王舍城建在了睚眦山,希望未来的日耳曼子孙居住在那里。中国佛教中的王舍城在须弥颅山,须弥颅是安拉的教子,因为中国佛教是从中东传到中国的。什么是王舍城?

According to the Nordic legend, the world designed by Thor is divided into three layers, as shown in Figure 38, which are called Samadhi (meaning three hidden lands) in this book system, and are Figures 34, 33, and 32. The middle part Thor calls Midgard, which is the “second hidden land”, and is called Middle Earth in Chinese culture and Buddhism. The mountain in the middle of Figure 38 is Mount Tanngnjóstr (also known as Mount Ararat, Mount German) designed by Thor.

Thor built three homes in the great-grand world and built “King’s House City” in Mount Tanngnjóstr, hoping that future Germanic descendants would live there. The “King’s House City” in Chinese Buddhism is in Mount Sumeru, which is Allah’s godson, because Chinese Buddhism was introduced to China from the Middle East. What is the “King’s House City”?

在佛教的百法中共有八位识,分别是,眼识,耳识,鼻识,舌识,身识,意识,前意识,无意识。这八识又名八位心王。在八识当中,无意识是心王。王舍是这些心王的住宅。

北欧传说,雷音家有460个房间,意思是王舍中还住着460位心所有法。那前文五位百法中一共才有51位心所有法,怎么办?雷音佛号大日如来,如来义为, “事实什么样,就是什么样” ,所以那460位心所有法和这51位心所有法所讲的内容相同。

Among the hundred laws in Buddhism, there are eight senses, namely, eye-sense, ear-sense, nose-sense, tongue-sense, body-sense, intent-sense, preconscious-ness, and unconsciousness. These eight senses are also called eight heart-kings. Among the eight senses, unconsciousness is the heart king. “King House” means that there are houses for the heart kings.

According to the Nordic legend, there are 460 rooms in Thor’s house, which means there are 460 positions of heartland laws (or laws belong to heart kings) living in the king’s house. So, what should we do there are only 51 heartland laws in Five Positions of Hundred Laws? Thor is also called “Great Sun Tathagata”; Tathagata means “as it is”, “whatever it is”, so the 460 heartland laws and the 51 heartland laws are talking about the same content.

另外,佛教术语 “法门” 就起源于雷音家的460个房间的门。同样的道理,雷音有一位有900个头的金奶奶,意思是他建立的生命之树共有900位法。这900位法和本书中的100位法的功能相同。

In addition, the Buddhist term "juristic door" originated from the doors of the 460 rooms in Thor's house. In the same way, Thor has a golden grandmother with 900 heads, which means that the tree of life he established has 900 laws. These 900 laws have the same function as the 100 laws of this book.

王舍城在哪里? 王舍是八识的住宅,是心房。雷音通过教子睚眦完全证实了他所建立的大千世界和900位法的有效性。作者我认为,睚眦出生于德国黑森洲的圣橡树林附近。因为雷音曾在睚眦的幼年喂食他橡子(参见11.5《四食谛》),睚眦绰号黑森林,出生地是他的依报身,所以那片橡树林被认为是圣橡林。

Where is the King House? The King House is the residence of the eight senses, is dwelling house of heart. Thor fully confirmed the validity of the great grand world and the 900 laws he established through his godson Tanngnjóstr. The author I believe that Tanngnjóstr was born near the sacred oak forest in Hesse, Germany. Because Thor fed Tanngnjóstr with acorns when he was young (see 11.5 "Four Foods Crux"), Tanngnjóstr's fame is Black Forest, and the place of birth was his “dependent recompense body”, so the oak forest was the “holly oak forest”.


 3. 金刚萨锤 Philosopher-Stone Sentient Hammer

雷音有许多佛号,如文殊师利菩萨,大日如来,金刚萨锤菩萨等。菩萨是梵语,义为真人。文殊师利义为雷音的书是文学艺术的天花板,开卷有益。大日如来是说雷音是一位罗汉山,十地菩萨,是磨牙和睚眦的神父。睚眦,又名阿尔维斯(古德语义为悉知悉见),是佛教的创始人。读者当知,阿尔维斯不是第一位佛,也不是最后一位,他被称为佛祖的另外一个原因是前文雷音所说的 “他是共产”。我们佛教是共同法。

Thor has many Buddhist fames, such as Manjushri Bodhisattva, Great Sun Tathagata, Philosopher-Stone Sentient Hammer Bodhisattva, etc. Bodhisattva is a Sanskrit word, means true human. Manjusri means that Thor’s book is the ceiling of literal art, and it is beneficial to read. The Great Sun Tathagata is saying that Thor is a Mount Ararat, a tenth-land bodhisattva, and the godfather of Tanngrisnir and Tanngnjóstr. Tanngnjóstr, also known as Alviss, the ancient German word means “all knowing all seeing”, is the founder of Buddhism. Readers should know that Alviss is not the first Buddha, nor the last. Another reason for him becoming primogenitor-buddha is that Thor said in the previous article that "he is a commonwealth”. Our Buddhism is common law. 

金刚萨锤,又名 “雷鼓瓮金锤” (如图42),据说是雷音用来击碎人的灵魂之石的,然后用它造出了睚眦和磨牙(即亚当和夏娃,参见9.9《三位一体》)。图40和41是北欧人所使用的雷音之锤。图46底部是古代墨西哥人所使用的雷音之锤。这个锤子到底是什么?我们先看看雷音如何使用这俩锤子。

Philosopher-Stone Sentient Hammer, also known as "Thunder Drum Urn Golden Hammer" (see Figure 42), is said to be used by Thor to smash the soul stone of human and then used to create Tanngnjóstr and Tanngrisnir (i.e. Adam and Eve, see 9.9 Godly Trinity). Figures 40 and 41 are the hammers of Thor used by the Nordic people. The bottom of Figure 46 is the hammer of Thor used by the ancient Mexicans. What exactly is this hammer? Let’s first look at how Thor uses these two hammers.

According to the Nordic legend, one day a god came, and Thor slaughtered Tanngrisnir and Tanngnjóstr, stewed them, and served the god mutton. After the god left, Thor resurrected them with his hammer, and the two goats returned to normal in one day.

这是在谈他设计的磨牙和睚眦。睚眦是亚当识(即无意识的污染部分,觉)的化身;磨牙是夏娃识(前意识)的化身。当神来了(即神的境界中,即初禅天及以上,参见第11章《禅》),亚当识和夏娃识就只剩下很少的部分了。当神离开了,也就是雷音从神的境界出来了,亚当识和夏娃识就恢复了;也就是说磨牙和睚眦复活了。从此分析得出结论,图40和41所示的一个锤子代表雷音自己的头;图42和46中的两个锤子代表磨牙和睚眦的头。

This is talking about Tanngrisnir and Tanngnjóstr he designed (see section 9.9 Godly Trinity). Tanngnjóstr is the incarnation of Adam-sense (i.e. the polluted part of the unconscious); Tanngrisnir is the incarnation of Eve-sense (i.e. the preconscious). When the god came (i.e. in the state of God, in the state of the first meditation or above, see chapter 11), only a small part of Adam-sense and Eve-sense remained. When the god left, that is, Thor came out of the state of God, Adam-sense and Eve-sense were restored; that is, Tanngrisnir and Tanngnjóstr were resurrected. From this analysis we conclude that the one hammer shown in Figures 40 and 41 represents Thor's own head; the two hammers in Figures 42 and 46 represent the heads of Tanngrisnir and Tanngnjóstr.

图44是羊乘教中的天道轮回守护女神芙蕾雅。牵引她座驾的两只猫,代表磨牙和睚眦,代表芙蕾雅的行为是以磨牙和睚眦这两种智慧为导引的。图45是墨西哥的天道轮回守护女神蔻忑鹠鸺(Coatlicue),她的两只手是两条蛇,代表金童(即亚当)和玉女(即夏娃)的知识,代表她做事都是基于金童和玉女的智慧。

Figure 6 is Freya, the guardian of the Goat Vehicle Godly cycle. The two cats leading her chariot represent Tanngrisnir and Tanngnjóstr, indicating that Freya's behavior is led by the two kinds of wisdom: Tanngrisnir and Tanngnjóstr. Figure 7 is Coatlicue, the Mexican guardian of godly cycle. Her hands are two snakes, representing the knowledge of Gold Boy (Adam) and Jade Girl (Eve), and indicating that everything she does is based on the wisdom of Gold Boy and Jade Girl.

北欧的传说,磨牙和睚眦不但是雷音的孩子,食物的来源,还是他重生的资俱,什么意思?这显示了雷音自信当金童和玉女再次来到这个世界,会供养他,喂他,给他输血,复活他。你怎么知道的?这些不都是我正在做的吗!雷音就是我们佛教书中所说的:一个古代的大帝行走于西方的天空,它的光辉照亮了我们东方的世界。

In the Nordic legend, Tanngrisnir and Tanngnjóstr are not only Thor's children, the source of his food, but also the resources for his rebirth, wherein? This shows that Thor is confident that when Gold Boy and Jade Girl come to this world again, they would commonwealth with him, feed him, transferring blood to him, and revive him. How do you know? Aren't that all what I am doing! Thor is what says in Buddhist books: an ancient great creator walked in the western sky; his glory illuminates our eastern land.

Illustration 43 shows Tanngrisnir and Tanngnjóstr eating the fruit of the Tree of Life, indicating that the Goat Vehicle Religion’s Juristic Door is to chew the five fruits (see section 10.6) of the Tree of Life, which is said to grow philosopher-stone teeth (as shown in Figure 47). Tanngnjóstr has the juristic fame of “philosopher-stone teeth Buddha”, so Tanngrisnir should be the origin of the Tooth Fairy (as shown in Figure 48).

 14.3.1 共产 Commonwealth

这是个北欧的传说。一天夜里,这位氏族首领的家里忽然有人喊,“生了!桥德(Jord义为大地,又名佛理格(Frigg),如图14.3-1)来了,她的孩子出生了!” 这个部落很快就热闹起来了,人们都来看望桥德。来的人都分到了礼物。据说桥德每次来这个部落,都会带着几马车的礼物。这个男婴的名字叫雷音(Thor),被包裹的严严实实的;谁也没看见他长什么样,就被部落首领的夫人抱到暖房里去了。

This is a Nordic legend. One night, someone suddenly shouted at the chief’s home, "It's born! Jord (meaning Earth, aka. Frigg, as shown in fig. 14.3-1) is here, and her child is born!" The tribe soon became lively, and people came to visit Jord. Everyone who came was given gifts. It is said that every time Jord came to the tribe, she would bring several carts of gifts. The baby boy’s name is Thor (meaning Thunder). He was wrapped tightly. No one could see what he looked like before he was taken to the greenhouse by the chief’s wife.

雷音从出生就被寄养在了这个部落首领的家里,从没见过他的父亲。他听母亲桥德说,父亲名叫奥丁(Odin,义为苍天),是邻国的低阶官员,总是出差在外,离这里很远。

Thor had been fostered in the home of the chief of this tribe since birth and had never seen his father. He heard from his mother, Jord, that his father's name is Odin (meaning Sky), a low-ranking official in a neighboring country who was always on business trips, far from here.

童年时的雷音最大的愿望是见一见他的父亲,总是求妈妈桥德安排和父亲见一面。一次桥德推脱不了了,就同意让奥丁来看他。在接近预定的日期,雷音天天去路上迎接他父亲,结果父亲没来。有人议论,他是私生子,母亲不愿意亲口告诉他。雷音长大些后,也认为自己是个私生子,就不再想父亲的事了。那为什么奥丁不见自己的儿子雷音呢?

When Thor was a child, his biggest wish was to see his father Odin. He always asked his mother Jord to arrange a meeting with his father. Jord could no longer refuse and agreed to let Odin come to see him. When the scheduled date was approaching, Thor went to the road to meet his father every day, but his father did not come. Some people said that he was a bastard, and his mother was unwilling to tell him in person. When Thor grew up, he also thought that he was a bastard and no longer thought about his father. So why didn't Odin meet his son Thor?

欧洲人所说的上帝造人,中华文化中称作百年树人,是个要花费三代人一百年的工程项目。本羊乘教法中,奥丁和桥德是第一代。奥丁对待雷音和克洛诺斯(Cronus)对待宙斯一样(参见14.2.1《金刚脐》),担任了雷音的神父,在雷音具有上帝的能力之前不能被他看见。桥德是王妃佛理格(Frigg)的乳名。

What Europeans call “God creating man” is called "hundred years to tree man” in Chinese culture, which is a project that takes three generations and a hundred years. In the lessons of Goat Vehicle, Odin and Jord are the first generation. Odin treated Thor the same way that Cronus treated Zeus (see Section 14.2.1 Philosopher-Stone Navel), served as Thor’s godfather. Thor could not be seen by Odin before he had the power of God. Jord is the maiden name of Princess Frigg.

雷音自幼聪明好学。少年晚期的身材就很高大强壮,据说能举起十张熊皮,一头和黄金一样黄的金发。读者当知,这里赞扬他的金发,是说奥丁和桥德造上帝的工作进展的很顺利。黄色在宗教中代表新陈代谢,与欧洲贵族迷信的黄头发没关系。是什么让奥丁和桥德在促使雷音成为上帝(佛教中称作大日如来)的工程中充满了信心?据说雷音在少年晚期,不到20岁,就击碎了人的灵魂之石(如图2),设计出了羊车(如图5;参见9.9 《三位一体》),在县里的文化竞赛中获得了奖励。

Thor was smart and studious since childhood. In his late teens, he was tall and strong. It is said that he could lift ten bear skins. His hair is as yellow as gold. Readers should know that the praise of his golden hair means that Odin and Jord's work on creating God is progressing smoothly. Yellow represents metabolism in religion, which has nothing to do with the yellow hair that European aristocrats superstitious about. What gives Odin and Jord confidence in the project of prompting Thor to become God (known in Buddhism as Great Sun Tathagata)? In his late teenage years, when he was less than 20 years old, Thor is said to have shattered the Stone of the Human Soul (e.g., Fig. 2) and designed the Goat Vehicle (e.g., Fig. 5; cf. 9.9 Godly Trinity), which was rewarded in a cultural competition in the county.

读者可能会怀疑,不到20岁就设计出了上帝,这不符合对许多金童的统计计算结果,觉悟年龄是38.7岁。这个故事是我少年时在佛学杂志上读到的,是一篇佛学爱好者们对1939年英国政府捐给布达拉宫的一份古代北欧文献的研究。他们分析王子奥丁和王妃佛理格把孩子雷音送到了国外,寄养在那里应该是有原因的。那是个小国,经济和军事都不发达,但有一个法学组织很出名,学术气氛很浓。而且雷音的导师乔达摩-悉达多(Siddhartha Gautama)年轻有为。雷音设计出了羊车应该说是导师教学有方,雷音对成为上帝有浓厚的兴趣,并不表明他已经完全懂上帝了。

Readers may wonder that designing God before the age of 20 does not conform to the statistical calculation results of many Gold Boys and Jade Girls, the age of enlightenment is 38.7 years old. I read this story in a Buddhist magazine when I was a teenager. It was about Buddhist enthusiasts’ research on an ancient Nordic scripture donated to the Potala Palace by the British government in 1939. They analyzed that Prince Odin and Princess Frigg sent their son Thor to a foreign country for a reason. It was a small country with underdeveloped economy and military, but it had a famous juristic organization with a strong academic atmosphere. Moreover, Thor's mentor Siddhartha Gautama was young and promising. Thor designed the Goat Vehicle, which should be attributed to his mentor's good teaching, and Thor had a strong interest in becoming a god, but it did not mean that he had fully understood God.

宗教义为祖宗的教诲,是一门深奥的科学,即便在现代社会99.99%的成年人对其毫无所知;而这位年轻的雷音却设计出了一套祖宗的教法,想成为一位祖宗,当地有知识的人闻之无不惊奇。其中有一位名作落基(Loki,义为落基山)的地方绅士对雷音的羊车特别感兴趣,几次邀请雷音去钓鱼,来观察研究他。

Religion is the teachings of ancestors, a profound science. Even in modern society, 99.99% of adults know nothing about it. However, this young Thor designed an ancestral teaching vehicle and wanted to become an ancestor. The local knowledgeable people were all surprised. Among them, a local nobleman named Loki (I.e., Rocky Mountain) was particularly interested in Thor's Goat Vehicle and invited Thor to go fishing several times to observe and study him.

3. 共产 Commonwealth

这天落基又邀请雷音去钓鱼(如插图3下所示),忍不住问了:“雷音!你的鱼钩是直的,你又不放饵,你在钓什么鱼?” 

雷音回答:“骑! 在此海洋的深处。”

落基没听说过这种鱼,就问:“什么是骑?有多大?”

This day, Loki invited Thor to go fishing again (as shown in the lower portion of fig.3) and couldn't help asking: " Thor! Your fishing hook is a straight bar, and you don't put any bait, what kind of fish are you fishing for?"

Thor replied: "Strange, in the ocean deep."

Loki had never heard of this fish and asked: "What is the Strange fish? How big is it?"

雷音回答:“深海有鱼,其名为骑。骑之大,不知其几千里也;化而为鸟,其名为骥。骑骥展翅兮,其翼若垂天之际;怒而飞,扶摇直上九万里。” 这里所说的骥,义为竹马,习气疙瘩,圣人,梵语补特伽罗, 如图3上部所示。雷音正想着如何用渔线(或雷音的带子,如图3中间部分)来绑住那只骥(即睚眦,金童,亚当)。

落基惊讶了,心想,“这小子什么时候有了吃我的计划”,却问雷音:“如果我们钓到那么大的一只鸟,我们所有的神就都有吃的了,但是上哪儿去找那么大的锅来煮那只鸟?”

Thor replied: "There is a fish in the deep sea, its name is Strange. The Strange is so big that I don't know how many thousands of kilometers it is. When it grows mature, transforms into a bird, namely Hobbyhorse. When Hobbyhorse spreads its wings as if it were hanging down to the sky rim, flying in anger, zig zag soaring up ninety thousand kilometers. " The word hobbyhorse here means habitual aggregate, sage, "Pudgala" in Sanskrit. As shown in the upper part of Figure 3, Thor was thinking about how to tie up the hobbyhorse (i.e., Tanngnjóstr, Gold Boy, Adam) with fishing line (or Thor's belt, see middle portion of fig. 3).

Loki was surprised and thought, "When did this guy plan to eat me!" He asked Thor: "If we catch a bird that big, all of us gods will have food to eat, but where can we find a pot that big to cook the bird?"

雷音回答:“我的那位有九百个头的金奶奶(义为生命之树,参见第10章)已经告诉我了,用一只水晶高脚杯砸向你的头,那个地大的锅就出现了!然后不单单我们所有的神吃,我会邀请众生都来分食这个共同财产!”

落基再也忍耐不住了,抱怨道:“告诉我,聪明的男孩!你是什么时候决定的吃定我落基了?”

Thor replied: "My nine-hundred-headed Golden Grandma (meaning the tree of life, see chapter 10) has told me that if I smash your head with a crystal goblet, the earth-sized pot will appear! Then not only will all of us gods eat it, but I will also invite all sentient beings to partake this commonwealth!"

Loki could no longer bear it and complained: "Tell me, clever boy! When did you decide to eat me, Loki?"

雷音回答:“我说的不是今天晚上,我在说未来。好!等骑骥咬钩了,我会让你看!”

落基感叹道:“这说的道是安慰话!等等!我应该努力干活帮你,所以我才有机会看到你的那个骑骥咬钩,是不是?聪明的男孩儿!?”

Thor replied: "I'm not talking about tonight; I'm talking about the future. OK! When the Strange Hobbyhorse takes my bait, I'll show you!"

Loki sighed: "That's just consolation! Wait! I should work hard to help you, so I can have a chance to see your Strange Hobbyhorse bites the hook, right? Smart boy!?"

释迦牟尼佛,初转法轮,渡阿若㤭陈如;最后说法,度须跋陀罗。所应度者,皆已度讫。于桫椤双树(注1)间,将入涅槃。是时中夜,寂然无声,为诸弟子略说法要。

注1,桫椤双树,如图16.3-35,代表戒渡,参见15.2节。

Shakyamuni Buddha, on his first-time turning juristic wheel, ferried, Anna Kondanna etc. five; on his last sermon, ferried Subhadda, etc. All should be ferried had been ferried. Between two Sal Fasullo trees (note 1), Social Honor would enter Nirvana. At the middle nighttime, all were silent, without any sound, Buddha briefly talked juristic essentials.

Note 1: The twin Sal Fasullo trees, as shown in Figure 16.3-35, represent Covenant Ark, see Section 15.2.

16.3.1 戒渡 Precept Ark

汝等僧尼!于我灭后,当尊重珍敬桫椤,如暗遇明,贫人得宝,当知此则是汝等大师,若我住世无异此也。持净戒者。不得贩卖贸易,安置田宅,畜养人民奴卑畜生,一切种植及诸财宝,皆当远离,如避火坑。不得斩伐草木,垦土掘地。合和汤药,占相吉凶,仰观星宿,推步盈虚,历数算计,皆所不应。节身时食,清净自活,不得参预世事,通致使命,咒术仙药,结好贵人,亲厚媟慢,皆不应作。当自端心,正念求度,不得包藏瑕疵,显异惑众,于四供养,知量知足,趣得供事,不应畜积。此则略说持戒之相,戒是正顺解脱之本,故名断头树。因依此戒,得生诸禅定(参见15.3节),及灭苦智慧。是故比丘,当持净戒,勿令毁缺。若能持净戒,是则能有善法。若无净戒,诸善功德皆不得生。是以当知,戒为第一安隐功德住处。

Your kinds of monks and nuns! After my extinguishment, should respect and cherish Sal Fasullo, as if darkness meets light, and the poor get a treasure. One should know that Sal Fasullo is a grand master for your kinds of, as if I was in the society, there were no differences. Immaculate precepts holders should not sale or trade; should not own or invest on lands and dwellings; should not farm citizens, slaves, and livestock. All farming and treasures, all should be left far away, like avoiding the fire pit. Should not cut down the vegetations or develop land to dig. Alchemy, augury, Astrology, rituals to inflate wanes, fortune telling, or fate prediction by calculations on their experiences, all of those, you should not. One should be frugally on clothes, food, and time, calmingly live by oneself. Should not, participate in social affairs, ally leagues, use curses and celestial medications, hobnob with nobles, be intimate with flirtatious or arrogant people, all of those, one should not do. One should rectitude own heart, with correct spells to pursue ferry; should not conceal blemishes; should not show bizarreness to confuse crowds. For food, clothing, housing, and transportation, the four Commonwealths, you should know quantity and contentment, interestingly accept Common Affairs, should not put in storage or deposit for interest. These are briefly sayings of phenomena for holding precepts. Precepts are foundation of correct sequential liberations, hence the name Guillotine Tree. Because of depending on Sal Fasullo, one can give births to meditations and stillness-es (see Section 15.3), and intelligence and gnosis to terminate bitter. Therefore, monks and nuns should hold immaculate precepts, do not have them ruined or waned. One can hold immaculate precepts, can have benevolent laws. Without immaculate precepts, those benevolent fortunes and virtues can not be born, therefore one should know that precepts are No. 1 seclusive fortunate virtuous dwelling place.

汝等僧尼!已能住戒,当制五根(即眼根、耳根、鼻根、舌根、和身根),勿令放逸,入于五欲(即色欲、声欲、香欲、味欲、和触欲)。譬如牧牛之人,执杖视之,不令纵逸,犯人苗稼。若纵五根,非唯五欲,将无涯畔,不可制也。亦如恶马,不以辔制,将当牵人墬于坑陷。如被劫贼,苦止一世,五根贼祸,殃及累世,为害甚重,不可不慎。是故智者制而不随,持之如贼,不令纵逸,假令纵之,皆亦不久见其磨灭。此五根者,心为其主,是故汝等,当好制心。心之可畏,甚于毒蛇、恶兽、怨贼、大火越逸,未足喻也。譬如有人,手执蜜器,动转轻躁,但观其蜜,不见深坑。譬如狂象无钩,猿猴得树腾跃踔踯,难可禁制,当急挫之,无令放逸。纵此心者,丧人善事,制之一处,无事不办。是故比丘,当勤精进,折伏汝心。

Your kinds of monks and nuns! Once you can dwell in precepts, should manage the five roots (i.e., eye-root, ear-root, nose-root, tongue-root, and body-root); do not indulge them into five desires (i.e., color-desire, sound-desire, incense-desire, taste-desire, and touch-desire). It's like a herdsman holding a stick and keeping eyes on the cows, not allowing them to run wild and harm others seedling crops. If the five roots are indulged, not only five desires lose their limits, to become boundless and uncontrollable, but also like ferocious horse without restraints by its bridle, will lead people into a pit trap. If robbed by thieves, bitterness ceases in one age, five roots thief disaster, misfortune transmits ages, harmfulness are very serious, one should not be careless; therefore, wiser restrains, does not follow, holds them like thieves, not has them roamed at large, fake commands to indulge them, all of them, very soon, visibly worn out. The five roots, heart is their lord, thus, your kinds of should be good at managing heart. Heart’s fearsomeness is severer than poisonous snakes, ferocious beasts, resentful thieves, even conflagrations at large are not enough to metaphor. Such as, a person holds a honey vessel with hands, moves, and turns impetuously, only sees the honey, can not see the deep pit. People who indulge heart, grieve over the dead, can do nothing but to finishing the benevolent customary; therefore, your kinds of monks and nuns work out the one place, nothing is left undone, should diligently advance, tame your own hearts.

汝等僧尼!受诸饮食,当如服药,于好于恶,勿生增减。趣得支身,以除饥渴。如蜂采华,但取其味,不损色香。比丘亦尔,受人供养,趣自除恼,无得多求,坏其善心。譬如智者,筹量牛力所堪多少,不令过分,以竭其力。

Your kind of monks and nuns! To accept drinks and foods, should take it as medicines, to the good and to the ferocious, should not bear the increment or decrement, interestingly take it to sustain the body, getting rid of thirstiness and hunger, like bees picking flowers, but take the taste, does not damage the colors and scents. Monks should take this way, nuns should do the same, accept commonwealths from others, interest to remove own annoyances, should not fetch much, damage their benevolent hearts. Such as wiser, contrive strength of the cow, estimate how much it can bear, do not exhaust it.

汝等僧尼!昼则勤心修习善法,无令失时,初夜后夜,亦勿有废。中夜诵经,以自消息,无以睡眠因缘,令一生空过,无所得也。当念无常之火,烧诸世间,早求自度,勿睡眠也。诸烦恼贼,常伺杀人,甚于怨家,安可睡眠,不自警寤。烦恼毒蛇,睡在汝心,譬如黑蚖,在汝室睡,当以持戒之钩,早摒除之。睡蛇既出,乃可安眠。不出而眠,是无惭人也。惭耻之服,于诸庄严,最为第一。惭如铁钩,能制人非法,是故常当惭愧,无得暂替。若离惭耻,则失诸功德。有愧之人,则有善法;若无愧者,与诸禽兽无相异也。

Your kinds of monks and nuns! Daytime, should diligently study and practice benevolent laws, do not lose on time. Evening and after middle night, also should not negate it away. Middle night reciting sutra, so you extinguish sleepiness by your self, not to cause of sleep, have life passed in vain, gain nothing. Should spell that fires of impermanence are burning down the mundane world, pursue self-ferry early, do not sleep. Those annoyance thieves always await to kill people, fiercer than the resentful foes, how can sleep!  No self-esteem! Poisonous annoyance snake is sleeping in your heart, like a black lizard sleep in your room, should use the hook of holding precepts to get rid of it early. After ousting sleep snake, you can easefully sleep; not ousting and sleep, shameless! Cloth of shame is the most No.1 among majesties, like an iron hook, can restrain people from illegality, therefore one should be shameful often, do not have it replaced momentarily. Leaving shame, then you lose achievements and virtues. With sin, then have benevolent laws; sinless, has no differences to beasts and fowls.

汝等僧尼!若有人来,节节支解,当自摄心,无令嗔恨,亦当护口,勿出恶言。若纵恚心,即自妨道,失功德利。忍之为德,持戒苦行,所不能及。能行忍者,乃可名为有力大人。若其不能欢喜忍受恶骂之毒,如饮甘露者,不名入智慧人也,所以者何?嗔恚之害,则破诸善法,坏好名闻;今世后世,人不喜见。当知嗔心,甚于猛火,常当防护,无令得入。劫功德贼,无过嗔恚,白衣受欲,非行道(参见第15章)人,无法自制,嗔犹可恕。出家行道,无欲之人,而怀嗔恚,甚不可也。譬如清冷云中,霹雳起火,非所应也。

Your kind of monks and nuns, if somebody come and chop you down part by part, should self assimilate your own heart, not have it irritated, also guard your own mouth, not to spit ferocious words. Indulging hateful heart, that is making hindrance on your own path, losing virtuous benefits. Virtues of countenance, holding precepts and ascetic migrations can not catch up. The capable of behaving in countenance, only then can be called great strength human. If one can not joyfully endure the poison of ferocious curses, like drinking nectar, can not be named as Intelligence-Gnosis Entrant, wherein? Harm of irritated indignity is to destroy benevolent laws, to ruin good fames; people of this generation and future generations are not glad to see. Your kinds should know that irritated heart is fiercer than raging fire, should always be guarded against, have it not entered. Thieves who rob achievements and virtues are no more than irritation. White collar people (i.e., nobles) are not path (crux; cf. chapter 15) walkers, no laws of self restraining, so bosomed with irritation and indignity are passable. Out household life, walking on path (crux), desire-less people bosom irritation and indignity, are very unacceptable, such like lightening causes fire in cold thin clouds, that should not be.

汝等僧尼!当自摩头,已舍饰好,著坏色衣,执持应器,以乞自活,自见如是。若起㤭慢,当疾灭之。增长㤭慢,尚非世俗白衣所宜,何况出家入道之人,为解脱故,自降其身而行乞耶。

Your kinds of monks and nuns should stroke your own head to bless yourselves. Having given up good decorations, and to wear damaged colors cloths, holding juristic staff to live by begging, you had chosen the type of life by your own opinion. If arrogance rises, should terminate it immediately. Fostering arrogance is not even suitable for mundane white collars, not to mention out-household-life path walkers, for the sake of liberation, surrender themselves to beg.

16.3.2 忍渡 Countenance Ark

本小节的八种功德又名八中洲,八忍地,八大金刚,忍渡。忍渡的象征性图标是16.3-18,表现的是墨西哥雨神特拉洛克的肠子。

The eight virtues in this section are also known as Eight Middle Continents, Eight Countenance Lands, Eight Philosopher-Stone Giants, and Countenance Ark. The symbolic icon for Countenance Ark is 16.3-18, which represents the intestines of Tlaloc, the Mexican rain god.

16.3.2-1 少欲功德 Fortunes and Virtues of Less Desire

汝等僧尼,谄曲之心与道相违,是故宜应质直其心。当知谄曲,但为欺诳,入道之人,则无是处。是故汝等,宜当端心,以质直心为本。汝等比丘,当知多欲之人,多求利故,苦恼亦多。少欲之人,无求无欲,则无此患。直尔少欲,尚宜修习,何况少欲,能生诸功德。少欲之人,则无谄曲以求人意,亦复不为诸根所牵。行少欲者,心则坦然,无所忧畏,触事有余,常无不足。有少欲者,则有涅槃,是名少欲。

Your kinds of monks and nuns! A flattering heart is contradictory to path (crux); therefore, it is better straight one’s heart. One should know that flattering is only deceiving, as a path (crux) walker, should not be like that, therefore your kinds should rectify your heart, by straight forward heart as orientation. Your kinds of monks and nuns! Should know that people who desire more, seek more benefits, have many annoyances; people who desire less, seek less, have no such afflictions. Straight forward and less desires are appropriate to practice, not to mention that less desires can give birth to achievements and virtues. People with less desires will not flatter others to seek favors, nor will they be led by five roots (i.e., eye-root, ear-root, nose-root, tongue-root, body-root). People with less desires have a calm heart, worriless and fearless; when they meet affairs, always have more than enough, no shortage. People with less desires, will have nirvana, hence the name “Less Desire”.

16.3.2-2 知足功德 Fortunes and Virtues of Contentment

汝等僧尼!若欲脱诸苦恼,当观知足。知足之法,即是当乐安隐之处。知足之人,虽卧地上,犹为安乐;不知足者,虽处天堂,亦不称意。不知足者,虽富而贫;知足之人,虽贫而富。不知足者,常为五欲所牵,为知足者之所怜愍,是名知足。

Your kinds of monks and nuns, wanting to detach from bitter annoyances, should view contentment. The law of contentment is a “should be happy with” seclusive place. People with contentment, even though they lie on ground, also feel adaptably ease; people without contentment, even though they are in heaven, also feel disagreeable. People without contentment often lead by five desires (i.e., color-desire, sound-desire, perfume-desire, taste-desire, and bodily touch desire); they are pitiable by people with contentment, hence the name Contentment.

16.3.2-3 远离功德 Fortunes and Virtues of Hike

汝等僧尼!欲求寂静无为法(参见10.6.4节)安乐,当离愦闹,独处闲居,静处之人,帝释诸天,所共敬重,是故当舍己众他众,空闲独处,思灭苦本。若乐众者,则受众恼,譬如大树众鸟集之,则有枯折之患。世间缚者,没于众苦,譬如老象溺泥,不能自出,是名远离。

Your kinds of monks and nuns! Desiring to pursue quite none-as law (Cf. 10.6.4) leisurely life, should stay away from the noise, and live seclusively. People at quiet place, are respected by Seth etc., skies, therefore, should abandon self-crowds and other crowds, leisurely live alone, mean how to terminate bitter roots. People who laugh at crowds, bear crowds of annoyances, such as big tree where crowd birds gather, then there are worries of withered broken branch. Mundane beings are fettered up, submerged in crowds of bitterness, such like an old elephant stuck in mud, can not come out by himself, hence the name Hike.

16.3.2-4 精进功德 Fortunes and Virtues of Diligently Effort

汝等僧尼!若勤精进,则事无难者,是故汝等当勤精进。譬如小水长流,则能穿石。若行者之心,数数懈废,譬如钻火,未热而息,虽欲得火,火难可得,是名精进(如图16.3-36,37)。

Your kinds of monks and nuns, if diligently effort, then there is not difficult affair, therefore, your kinds should diligently effort. Such as a little water flows for a long time, it can wear stones. If migrator’s heart slack time by time, likes to get fire by drilling into wood. Before wood is heated enough, the driller has a brake; even though the driller desires fire, but fire is hard to get, hence the name Diligently Effort (see figs. 16.3-36, 37).

16.3.2-5守念功德 Fortunes and Virtues of Hold Spell

汝等僧尼!求善知识;求善护助,无如不忘念。若有不忘念者,诸烦恼贼则不能入。是故汝等,常当摄念在心。若失念者,则失诸功德。若念力坚强,虽入五欲贼中,不为所害。譬如著铠入阵,则无所畏,是名不忘念。

Your kinds of monks and nuns, seek for benevolent knowledge; to pursue benevolent protection and help, is inferior to not forgetting spell. People who can hold spell, then those thieves of annoyances can not enter, therefore, your kinds should assimilate spells into heart constantly. If one loses his or her spell, then loses all achievements and virtues. If one's spell power is strong, one will not be harmed even if he or she enters the five desires of thieves. Such as an armored soldier enters a battlefield, is fearless. This is called not forgetting spell.

16.3.2-6 禅定功德 Fortunes and Virtues of Meditation and Stillness

汝等僧尼!若摄心者,心则在定。心在定故,能知世间生灭法相,是故汝等,常当精勤修习诸定。若得定者,心则不散,譬如惜水之家,善治堤塘。行者亦尔,为智慧水故,善修禅定,令不漏失,是名为定。

Your kinds of monks and nuns! People who assimilate hearts, hearts are in stillness constantly. Because of hearts in stillness, one can know birth extinction etc. juristic phenomena of mundane world, therefore, your kind etc. should diligently put efforts in practicing stillness-es. People who gain stillness and heart is not loose, such as families that cherish water, are good at managing pond dams. Migrators are also like that, for water of intelligence and gnosis, good at practicing meditation and stillness can have them not leaked lost, hence the name Stillness.

16.3.2-7 智慧功德 Fortunes and Virtues of Intelligence and Gnosis

汝等僧尼!若有智慧,则无贪著。常自省察,不令有失,是则于我法中,能得解脱。若不尔者,既非道人,又非白衣,无所名也。实智慧者,则是度老病死海坚牢船也,亦是无明黑暗大明灯也,一切病者之良药也,伐烦恼树之利斧也。是故汝等,当以闻思修慧而自增益。若人有智慧之照,虽是肉眼,而是明见人也,是名智慧。汝等僧尼!若种种戏论,其心则乱,虽复出家,犹未得脱。是故比丘,当急舍离乱心戏论。若汝欲得寂灭乐者,唯当善灭戏论之患,是名不戏论。

Your kinds of monks and nuns! If having intelligence and gnosis, then not greedily lingering; often self check, not let it be, if so, you can unfetter in “I law”. If not, neither path walker nor white collar, can not be named. Very factual intelligence and gnosis, then are solid Ark to ferry over older illness and death sea, also are great light in non-light (i.e., ignorant) darkness, are good medicine for all illnesses, sharp ax for chopping down annoyance trees. Therefore, your kinds etc. should by heard, meant, and cultivated gnosis to self-benefit. If people who is with illumination of intelligence and gnosis, even though only with flesh eye, also are people with bright vision, hence the name Intelligence Gnosis. Your kinds of monks and nuns! If meet kinds of gamely theses, hearts are disturbed into chaos, even though come out household life again, can not gain liberation. Therefore, your kinds of monks and nuns, should speedily leave muddle heart gamely theses. If you desire to gain silent extinctive laugh, only should be good at terminating faults of gamely theses, hence the name No Game Theses.

汝等僧尼!于诸功德,常当一心,舍诸放逸,如离怨贼。大悲世尊,所说利益,皆已究竟。汝等但当勤而行之。若于山间,若空泽中,若在树下,闲处静室,念所受法,勿令忘失,常当自勉,精进修之,无为空死,后致有悔。我如良医!知病说药,服与不服,非医咎也。又如善导,导人善道,闻之不行,非导过也。

Your kinds of monks and nuns! Should always be one heart with achievements and virtues, abandon laxness like leaving resentful thieves. Great Sorrowful Social Honor said benefits, all have been finalized. Your kinds should only diligently practice it. Such as in the mountains, in empty swamp, under a tree, or in a quiet room, recite what laws you have received, have them not forgotten, constantly encourage yourself, diligently put efforts to practice it, do not be death in vain, so that, regret later. I am like a good doctor, knowing illness then speaking of prescriptions; take the medication or not, that is not doctor’s fault. And more, I am like a guide, guide people to the benevolent path; hearers hear it, not walk on it, that is not guide’s fault.

16.3.2-8 毕竟功德 Fortunes and Virtues of Finalization

汝等若于苦等四谛有所疑者,可疾问之,毋得怀疑,不求决也。尔时世尊,如是三唱,人无问者,所以者何?众无疑故。时桫鲁-法索椤,观察众心,而白佛言:“世尊!月可令热,日可令冷,佛说四谛,不可令异。佛说苦谛实苦,不可令乐。集真是因,更无异因,苦若灭者,即是因灭。因灭故果灭,灭苦之道,实是真道。更无余道。世尊!是诸比丘,于四谛中,决定无疑。于此众中,所作未办者,见佛灭度,当有悲感。若有初入法者,闻佛所说,即皆得度。譬如夜见电光,即得见道。若所作已办,已度苦海者,但作是念, ‘世尊灭度,一何疾哉!’”

If you etc. whoever has doubt about Bitter, Aggregate, Salvation, and Path, the Four Victorious Cruxes, ask quickly, should not bosom doubt, not pursue finalization. At that time, Social Honor thus asked three times, nobody asked, why did that? Because crowds have no suspicion. At that time, Sal Fasullo (the manager of the ritual) investigated hearts of crowds and reported to Buddha: “Social Honor! Moon may turn into hot; sun may turn into cold. Four Victorious Cruxes spoken by Buddha, shall not be different. Buddha said that Bitter Crux is factual bitterness, shall not make it laugh. Aggregate Crux is reason of Bitter, no more mutant cause. If bitter is terminated, that is termination on cause. The reason is terminated, therefore fruit fades, the Path of terminating bitterness is factual Path, no more extra path. Social Honor! We monks and nuns resolutely have no doubt about the Four Victorious Cruxes. Among the crowds, there are what are doing have not done yet, seeing Buddha’s terminally ferry, should have sorrow. If there are new juristic entrants, heard what Buddha said, immediately all get ferried, such as appearance of lightning in night, instantly sees their path. Those what should do have been done, already ferried over the bitter sea, only make the spell, ‘Social Honor terminally ferry, what a rush!’”

16.3.3 坚定信心 Consolidate Faith 

桫鲁-法索椤虽说此语,众中皆悉了达四圣谛义。世尊欲令此诸大众皆得坚固,以大悲心,复为众说;“汝等比丘,勿怀悲恼,若我住世一劫,会亦当灭。会而不离,终不可得。自利利他,法皆具足。若我久住,更无所益。应可度者,若天上人间,皆悉已度。其未度者,皆亦已作得度因缘。自今以后,我诸弟子,展转行之,则是如来法身,常在而不灭也。是故当知,世皆无常,会必有离,勿怀忧恼,世相如是。当勤精进,早求解脱;以智慧明,灭诸痴暗。世实危脆、无坚牢者,我今得灭,如除恶病。此是应舍之身,罪恶之物,假名为身,没在老病生死大海,何有智者,得除灭之,如杀怨贼,而不欢喜。”

汝等僧尼!常当一心,勤求出道。一切世间动不动法,皆是败坏不安之相。汝等且止,勿得复语,时将欲过,我欲灭度,是我最后之所教诲。

Even though Sal Fasullo only spoke of these words, among crowds, all understood the significances of the Four Victorious Cruxes completely. Social Honor desired to make all people confident, with great sorrowful heart, spoke again: “Your kinds of monks and nuns! Do not bosom sorrowful annoyances, even if I dwell on the world one catastrophe more, meeting still will extinguish, meeting without separation can not be gained at last. Self-benefit and benefit-others, laws have them fully. Even if I dwell longer, no further benefit to. Should be ferried, such skies above, among humans, all have been ferried; those have not been ferried, all have been projected causes or aggregative factors to be ferried. From now on, all my disciples develop and practice it, then that is Tathagata’s juristic body permanently dwells, never perishes. Therefore, you should know that all in the world are impermanent, union has separation, do not bosom gloomily annoyances, mundane phenomena are such like! Should diligently advance, strive to unfetter early, by light of intelligence and gnosis to terminate darkness of ignorance. The world is fragile factually, nobody is a prisoner in an indestructible; I will perish today, like a ferocious disease is removed. The body should be abandoned, a ferocious evil thing, fictitiously named as body, submerged in the sea of old, illness, birth, and death, whoever wise shall remove, terminate it, like killing a resentful thief, not rejoice!”

“Your kinds of monks and nuns! Should constantly with one heart, diligently seek ousting path. All mundane movable and immovable laws, all are ruin phenomena of disquietudes! Your kinds stop! Don’t utter a word again! Time passes over desire, I desire terminally ferry, this is my last teaching.”

16.2.17 三问黄砂惑 Third Ask Yellow Sand Muddle

 

尔时,具寿观世音菩萨复白佛言:世尊!诸有发趣菩萨乘者,应云何住?云何修行?云何摄伏其心?

佛告观世音菩萨:诸有发趣菩萨乘者,应当发起如是之心:我当皆令一切有情,于无余依妙涅槃界而般涅槃,虽度如是一切有情,令灭度已,而无有情得灭度者,何以故?善现!若诸菩萨摩诃萨有情想转,不应说名菩萨摩诃萨,所以者何?若诸菩萨摩诃萨不应说言有情想转,如是命者想、士夫想、竹马(补特伽罗,习气疙瘩)想、意生想、儒童(即摩纳婆)想、作者想、受者想转,当知亦尔,何以故?善现!无有少法名为发趣菩萨乘者。

佛问观世音:于汝意云何?如来昔于燃灯佛所,颇有少法能证阿耨多罗三藐三菩提(即无上正等正觉)不?

观世音白佛言:世尊!如我解佛所说义者,如来昔于燃灯佛所,无有少法能证阿耨多罗三藐三菩提。

At that time, full life Guanyin Bodhisattva asked Buddha again: Social Honor! To those aroused interest to Bodhisattva Vehicle, how should they dwell on? How should they behave and cultivate? How should they assimilate and tame their own hearts?

Buddha told Guanyin Bodhisattva: whoever aroused interest to Bodhisattva Vehicle, should arouse the heart, “I should let all sentients, due Non-Reliant Nirvana boundary, arrive at Nirvana; thus, to ferry all sentient beings. After terminally ferried them all, no sentient gains the extinctive ferry,” wherein? Benevolent Manifestation! if Bodhisattvas and Mahasattvas (i.e., True-Humans and Great-Humans) have sentient think turning, should not say names of Bodhisattvas and Mahasattvas, wherein? If saying Bodhisattvas and Mahasattvas, should not say sentient think turning, thus living think, warrior think, hobbyhorse (i.e., Pudgala, a habitual aggregate) think, intent born think, Abel (i.e., Manava, Juvenile) think, creator think, acceptor think should be known as that also, wherein?  Benevolence Manifestation! No few laws are named as “Bodhisattva Vehicle Interest Arouser”.

Buddha asked Guanyin Bodhisattva: according to your own intentionality to say, past time at Lamplighter Buddha (Dipankara) place, had Tathagata few laws to prove anuttara-samyak-sambodhi (i.e., Non-Upper Correct-Equality Correct-Perception)?

Guanyin Bodhisattva answered: Social Honor! Allow me to explain what Buddha just said! In the past, at Lamplighter Buddha place, Tathagata hadn’t few laws to prove Upmost Correct-Equality Correct-Perception.

佛告观世音言:如是!如是!善现!如来昔于燃灯佛所,无有少法能证阿耨多罗三藐三菩提,何以故?善现!如来昔于燃灯佛所,若有少法能证阿耨多罗三藐三菩提者,燃灯佛不应授我记言,善男子须弥颅于当来世成佛,号释迦牟尼。善现!以如来无有少法能证阿耨多罗三藐三菩提,是故燃灯佛授我记言,善男子须弥颅于当来世成佛,号释迦牟尼,所以者何?

善现!言如来者,即是真实、真如,增语(注1);言如来者,即是无生、法性,增语;言如来者,即是永断道路,增语;言如来者,即是毕竟不生,增语,何以故?善现!若实无生,即最胜义。

1,这是一种佛教中的特殊语法,用增语一词来标志此句所说的是非量(参见10.4.5节),是用来帮助思想的。

Buddha told Guanyin Bodhisattva: Thus! Thus! Benevolence Manifestation! Past time at Lamplighter Buddha (Dipankara) place, Tathagata hadn’t few laws to prove Anuttara Samyak Sambodhi, wherein? Benevolence Manifestation! Past time at Lamplighter Buddha place, if Tathagata had few laws to prove “Non-Upper Correct-Equality Correct-Perception”, Lamplighter Buddha shouldn’t bestow remembrance to me that “the benevolent man Sumeru shall become a Buddha in coming next life, juristic fame Shakyamuni”. Benevolence Manifestation! Because of not few laws to prove Non-Upper Correct-Equality Correct-Perception, therefore, Lamplighter Buddha conferred remembrance to me that “the benevolent man Sumeru shall become a Buddha in coming next life, juristic fame Shakyamuni”, wherein?

Benevolence Manifestation! Saying that Tathagata is real fact, true suchness – Escalatory Language (note 1); saying that Tathagata is non-birth, juristic nature - Escalatory Language; saying that Tathagata has severed path permanently - Escalatory Language; saying that Tathagata is terminally non-birth - Escalatory Language, wherein? Benevolence Manifestation! Such factual non-birth is significance of the upmost victory exactly.

Note 1, this is a special grammar in Buddhism, the word Escalatory-Language is used to indicate that this sentence is not a fact, is non-quantity (cf. section 10.4.5), is used to help thinking.

善现!若如是说如来能证阿耨多罗三藐三菩提者,当知此言为不真实,所以者何?善现!由彼谤我起不实执,何以故?善现!无有少法,如来能证阿耨多罗三藐三菩提。善现!如来现前等所证法,或所说法,或所思法,即于其中非谛非妄,是故如来说一切法皆是佛法。善现!一切法一切法者,如来说非一切法,是故如来说名一切法一切法。

佛告观世音:譬如士夫具身大身。

具寿观世音即白佛言:世尊!如来所说士夫具身大身,如来说为非身,是故说名具身大身。

Benevolence Manifestation! Such as the saying that “Tathagata is capable to prove Non-Upper Correct-Equality Correct-Perception”. One should know, that isn’t true, wherein? Benevolence Manifestation! Because they slander me to arouse not factual obsession, wherein? Benevolence Manifestation! No few laws, Tathagata can depend on to prove Non-Upper Correct-Equality Correct-Perception. Benevolence Manifestation! Laws proved, or laws spoken, or laws meant presently by Tathagata, all are neither truthful nor illusion, therefore, Tathagata says all laws are Buddha’s laws. Benevolence Manifestation! All laws all laws, Tathagata says, aren’t all laws, therefore, Tathagata says the names of all laws all laws.

Buddha told Guanyin Bodhisattva: such as a civilian has a gigantic body.

Full life Guanyin Bodhisattva immediately answered: Social Honor! Tathagata said civilian with a gigantic body, Tathagata said, “isn’t body”, therefore, “says the name of aggregately gigantic body”.

佛言:善现!如是!如是!若诸菩萨作如是言,我当灭度无量有情,是则不应说名菩萨,何以故?善现!颇有少法名菩萨不?

观世音答言:不也,世尊!无有少法名为菩萨。

佛告观世音:有情有情者,如来说非有情,故名有情。是故如来说一切法无有有情、无有命者、无有士夫、无有竹马(补特伽罗)等。善现!若诸菩萨作如是言,我当成办佛土功德庄严,亦如是说,何以故?善现!佛土功德庄严佛土功德庄严者,如来说非庄严,是故如来说名佛土功德庄严佛土功德庄严。善现!若诸菩萨于无我法、无我法深信解者,如来说为菩萨菩萨。

Buddha said: Benevolence Manifestation! Thus! Thus! If bodhisattvas say the words, “I shall terminally ferry boundless sentients”, if so, he or she shouldn’t be called bodhisattva, wherein? Benevolence Manifestation! Are there very few laws named as bodhisattva?

Guanyin Bodhisattva answered: No, Social Honor! No few minor laws are named as Bodhisattva.

Buddha told Guanyin Bodhisattva: sentient beings, sentient beings, Tathagata says, are not sentient beings, hence the name of sentient beings. Therefore, Tathagata says that all laws haven’t sentient beings, haven’t life, haven’t warrior, haven’t hobbyhorse (i.e., Pudgala, a habitual aggregate), etc. Benevolence Manifestation! If a bodhisattva says, “I shall make Buddha’s Soil majestic”, is like that also, wherein? Benevolence Manifestation! Virtuous Majesties of Buddha’s Soil, Virtuous Majesties of Buddha’s Soil, Tathagata says, are not Majesties, therefore, Tathagata says the names of Virtuous Majesties of Buddha’s Soil, Virtuous Majesties of Buddha’s Soil. Benevolence Manifestation! If bodhisattvas on “no I law” “no I law”, deeply faithfully believe in and interpret, Tathagata says that they are Bodhisattvas, Bodhisattvas.

16.2.18 一体同观 One-Body View

佛复问观世音菩萨:于汝意云何?如来等现有宿命通、肉眼通、天眼通、慧眼通、法眼通、佛眼通、和漏尽通不?

观世音答:如是!世尊!如来等现有宿命通、肉眼通、天眼通、慧眼通、法眼通、佛眼通、和漏尽通(注1)。

佛问观世音:于汝意云何?大醒识河、大幻识河、大梦识河、乃至大散识河,此须弥颅山目苑四方的四条大河中所有砂,如来说是砂不?其砂数多不?

观世音答:如是,世尊!如是,善逝!如来说是砂;砂数甚多。

佛言:善现!乃至彼四河砂数世界中所有有情,彼诸有情各有种种,其心流注我悉能知,何以故?善现!心流注心流注者,如来说非流注,是故如来说名心流注心流注,所以者何?善现!过去心不可得,未来心不可得,现在心不可得。

Buddha asked Guanyin Bodhisattva again: Benevolent Manifestation! According to your own intentionality to say, have Tathagata presently Fate Through, Flesh Eye Through, Celestial Eye Through, Gnostic Eye Through, Juristic Eye Through, Buddha’s Eye Through and Leakage End Through (note 1)?

Guanyin Bodhisattva replied: Yes, Social Honor! Tathagata etc. presently has Fate Through, Flesh Eye Through, Celestial Eye Through, Gnostic Eye Through, Juristic Eye Through, Buddha’s Eye Through, and Leakage End Through (note 1).

Buddha asked Guanyin Bodhisattva: According to your own intentionality, what say you? Great Wakeful-Senses River, Great Hallucinational-Senses River, Great Dream-Senses River, and Great Loose-Senses River, all sands in all the four great rivers around our Eye-Den Garden in Mount Sumeru, does Tathagata call those sands? Are those sands number many?

Guanyin Bodhisattva answered: Thus! Social Honor! Thus! Benevolent Renunciation! As you say it is sand; and the number of sands is very great.

Buddha said: Benevolence Manifestation! Up to those sands number worlds of sentient beings, those sentients, each has multifold of hearts; Tathagata knows all their hearts streams circulations, wherein? Benevolence Manifestation! Heart Stream Circulations Heart Stream Circulations, Tathagata says, are not Heart Stream Circulations; therefore, Tathagata says the names of Heart Stream Circulations Heart Stream Circulations, wherein? Benevolent Manifestation! Past heart isn’t obtainable; future heart isn’t obtainable; present heart isn’t obtainable.

Note 1, Tathagata etc. refer to the Godly Trinity (see fig. 16.2.17 left, and section 9.9). The trinity of Godfather (i.e. Great Sun Tathagata), Buddha (i.e. Gold Boy, Adam), and Buddha Mother (i.e. Jade Girl, Eve) as a whole, fully possesses these seven kinds of divine powers. Then why did the Buddha say that the Tathagata etc. now possess all seven kinds of divine powers? Because Guanyin Bodhisattva (i.e. Kubaba, the daughter of Allah) was also present.

16.2.19 法界通分 One Same Juristic Boundary

佛问观世音菩萨:此去东方一万八千由旬有河名黄,河畔有善男信女名卢岩和刘健君(参见第一章),于日日分舍黄河沙等自体,如是经黄河沙等劫数舍施自体。善现,于汝意云何?是善男子和善女人,由是因缘所生福聚宁为多不?

观世音答言:甚多,世尊!甚多,善逝!

佛言:善现!如是!如是!彼善男卢岩和信女刘健君,由此因缘所生福聚其量甚多,何以故?善现!若有福聚,如来不说福聚福聚。

Buddha asked Guanyin Bodhisattva: 108,000 yojanas away from here to the west, there is a river namely Yellow, and by its banks there are a benevolent man and a faithful woman, namely Adam Luyan and Eve Liu (see Chapter 1). Day after day, they two divide and donate Yellow River sand number self-body; and have been giving away self-body for as many catastrophes as Yellow River sands. Benevolence Manifestation! According to your own intentionality, what say you? Due to the cause, are their fortunate aggregates born many?

Guanyin answered: very many! Social-Honor! Many indeed! Benevolent Renunciation!

Buddha said: Benevolent Manifestation! Thus! Thus! That benevolent man Luyan and faithful woman Eve Liu, due to the cause, fortunate aggregates born are much many, wherein? Benevolent Manifestation! If fortunate aggregates factually have, Tathagata wouldn’t say fortunate aggregates fortunate aggregates.

16.2.20 离色离相 Leaving Colors Leaving Phenomena

佛问观世音:于汝意云何?可以三千威仪八万四千细行色(注1)身圆实观如来不?

观世音答言:不也,世尊!不可以色身圆实观于如来,何以故?世尊!色身圆实色身圆实者,如来说非圆实,是故如来说名色身圆实色身圆实。

佛问观世音菩萨:于汝意云何?可以五百威仪十万八千魅力诸相具足观于观世音菩萨不?

观世音菩萨答言:不也,世尊!不可以诸相具足观于观世音菩萨,何以故?世尊!诸相具足诸相具足者,如来说为非相具足,是故如来说名诸相具足诸相具足。

1,佛教从眼识所对的色来定义物质,所以佛教中色是变化,障碍义(参见10.4.1节)。

Buddha asked Guanyin Bodhisattva: According to your intent, what say you? Can people by “3,000 majesties 84,000 enchantments”, the perfectly factual color (1) body to view Tathagata?

Guanyin Bodhisattva answered: No! Social-Honor! People shouldn’t with “3,000 majesties 84,000 enchantments”, the perfectly factual color body to view Tathagata (i.e., Thus Come), wherein? Social-Honor! Perfectly factual color Body, Tathagata said, is not perfect factual color body, therefore, Tathagata said the names of “perfectly factual color body”, “perfectly factual color body”.

Buddha asked Guanyin Bodhisattva: According to your intent, what say you? Can people by 500 majesties 108,000 charms, the fully possessing all phenomena to view Guanyin Bodhisattva?

Guanyin Bodhisattva answered: No! Social-Honor! People shouldn’t with “500 majesties 108,000 charms”, the fully possessing all phenomena to view Guanyin Bodhisattva, wherein? Social-Honor! Fully possessing all phenomena, Tathagata said, is not fully possessing all phenomena, therefore, Tathagata said the names of fully possessing all phenomena, fully possessing all phenomena.

Note 1, Buddhism defines matter or substance from visual objectives, so word color in Buddhism means transformation and hindrance (cf. section 11.4.1).

16.2.21 非说所说 The Sayings Aren’t Those Factuality

佛问观音菩萨:于汝意云何?如来颇作是念:我当有所说法耶?善现!汝今勿当作如是观,何以故?善现!若言如来有所说法,即为谤我,为非善取,何以故?善现!说法说法者,无法可说,故名说法。

尔时,具寿观音复白佛言:世尊!于当来世后时、后分、后五百岁,正法将灭时分转时,颇有有情闻说如是色类法已能深信不?

佛言:善现!彼非有情、非不有情,何以故?善现!一切有情者,如来说非有情,故名一切有情。

Buddha asked Guanyin Bodhisattva again: According to your intent, what say you? Does Tathagata often make the spell, “I should have what laws I said”? Benevolence Manifestation! Now, you shouldn’t make thus view, wherein? Benevolence Manifestation! If saying that Tathagata has what laws he said, that is slandering me, is non-benevolent fetch, wherein? Benevolence Manifestation! Saying laws saying laws, no laws to say, hence the name of Saying Laws.

At that time, full life Guanyin Bodhisattva reported to Buddha again: Social Honor! On coming future, later hours, later minutes, later 500 years, correct laws extinctive time turning on, are there many sentient beings upon hearing the color like laws to deeply believe in?

Buddha said: Benevolence Manifestation! Those are neither sentients nor non-sentients, wherein? Benevolence Manifestation! All sentients, Tathagata says, are not sentients, therefore the name of all sentients.

16.2.22 无法可得 No Laws to Gain

佛问观音菩萨:于汝意云何?颇有少法,如来可以之现证无上正等菩提耶?

观音言:世尊!如我解佛所说义者,无有少法,如来以之现证无上正等菩提。

佛言:善现!如是!如是!于中少法无有无得,故名无上正等菩提。

Buddha asked Guanyin Bodhisattva: according to your intent, what say you? Are there few laws, by which Tathagata can presently prove Non-upper Correct-equality Correct-Enlightenment (i.e., anuttara-samyak-sambodhi)?

Guanyin answered: Social Honor! Allow me to explain what Buddha just said, no few laws, by which Tathagata can presently prove “Non-Upper Correct-Equality Correct-Enlightenment”.

Buddha said: Benevolence Manifestation! Thus! Thus! There aren’t few laws and those to be gained, hence the name of “Non-Upper Correct-Equality Correct-Enlightenment”.

16.2.23 空性平等 Empty Nature is Equality

复次,善现!是法平等,于其中间无不平等,故名无上正等菩提。以无我性、无有情性、无命者性、无士夫性、无竹马(补特伽罗)等性,平等,故名无上正等菩提。一切善法无不现证,一切善法无不妙觉。善现!善法善法者,如来一切说为非法,是故如来说名善法善法。

Again next, Benevolence Manifestation! The laws are equal, among which there aren’t inequality, hence name of “Non-Upper Correct-Equality Correct-Enlightenment (i.e., anuttara-samyak-sambodhi)”. Due to no “I” nature, no sentient nature, no living nature, no warrior nature, no hobbyhorse (Pudgala) nature, etc. nature, evenly equality, hence the name of “Non-upper Correct-equality Correct-Enlightenment”. All benevolent laws, none isn’t presently proved; all benevolent laws, none isn’t wonderfully perceived. Benevolence Manifestation! Benevolent laws benevolent laws, Tathagata says, aren’t laws, therefore, Tathagata says the names of benevolent laws, benevolent laws.

16.2.24 无为福胜 Victorious Fortune of Non-as Law

复次,善现!若善男子或善女人集七宝聚,量等三千大千世界其中所有妙高山王,持用布施。若善男子或善女人,于此《到达方舟经》中乃至四段文句,受持、读诵、究竟通利,及广为他宣说、开示、如理作意。善现!前说福聚于此福聚,千分计之所不能及,如是百万分、若十亿分、若数分、若喻分亦不能及。

Again next, Benevolence Manifestation! Such as a benevolent man or faithful woman uses seven treasure aggregates which quantity equals to all wonderful mountains in Three-Grand Great-Grand worlds, to charitably donate. If a benevolent man or faithful woman on the Arrival Ark Sutra, even down to four sections, accepts, holds, reads, recites, finalizes to benefits, up to preach and exemplify to others broadly, makes intents accordingly, Benevolence Manifestation! The earlier said fortunate aggregates vs. these fortunate aggregates, not a thousandth, not a millionth, less than a billionth, less than a number division, can’t catch up even in metaphysical division.

16.2.25 化无所化分 To Convert Those Nothing to Be Converted

佛告善现:于汝意云何?如来颇作是念,我当度脱诸有情耶?善现!汝今勿当作如是观,何以故?善现!无少有情如来度者。善现!若有有情如来度者,如来即应有其我执、有有情执、有命者执、有士夫执、有竹马等执。善现!我等执者,如来说为非执,故名我等执,而诸愚夫异生强有此执。善现!愚夫异生者,如来说为非生,故名愚夫异生。

Buddha told Guanyin Bodhisattva: according to your intent, what say you? Does Tathagata often make the spell, “I should transcendently ferry all sentient beings”? Benevolence Manifestation! Now, you shouldn’t make such a view, wherein? Benevolence Manifestation! There aren’t few sentient beings ferried by Tathagata. Benevolence Manifestation! If having sentient beings ferried by Tathagata, Tathagata should have I obsession, have sentient obsession, have living obsession, have warrior obsession, have hobbyhorse (Pudgala) etc. obsessions, Benevolence Manifestation! I etc. obsessions, Tathagata says, are not obsessions, therefore the names of “I” etc. obsessions, but fools and mutants stubbornly have the obsessions.  Benevolence Manifestation! Fools and Mutants, Tathagata says, are not living beings, hence the names of Fools and Mutants.

16.2.26 法身非相 Juristic Body isn’t Phenomena

佛问观世音:于汝意云何?可以三千威仪八万四千细行诸相具足观如来不?

观世音答言:如我解佛所说义者,不应以三千威仪八万四千细行诸相具足观于如来。

佛言:善现!善哉!善哉!如是!如是!如汝所说,不应以诸相具足观于如来。善现!若以三千威仪八万四千细行诸相具足观如来者,转轮圣王的旗手应是如来,是故不应以诸相具足观于如来,如是应以诸相非相观于如来。

尔时,世尊而说颂曰:诸以色观我,以音声寻我,彼生履邪断,不能当见我。应观佛法性,即导师法身;法性非所识,故彼不能了。

Buddha asked Guanyin Bodhisattva: According to your intent, what say you? Can people use Perfect Phenomenal Fulfillment of 3,000 majesties 84,000 enchantments to view Tathagata?

Guanyin Bodhisattva answered: Let me explain what Buddha just said, shouldn’t use of 3,000 Majesties 84,000 Enchantments, the Perfect Phenomenal Fulfillment to view Tathagata.

Buddha said: Benevolence Manifestation! Benevolent! Benevolent! Thus! Thus! Just as what you said, shouldn’t use the Perfect Phenomenal Fulfillment to view Tathagata. Benevolence Manifestation! If using Full Phenomena of 3,000 Majesties 84,000 Enchantments to view Tathagata, Wheel-turner holy King’s bannerman should be Tathagata, therefore, shouldn’t use Perfect Phenomenal Fulfillment to view Tathagata, thus, should use “phenomena aren’t phenomena” to view Tathagata.

At that time, Social Honor sang a song, “All those who look at me by color and search for me by sound, they are migrating on heretical view and severing views, shouldn’t see me! They should view advisor’s juristic body as nature of Buddha’s laws. Juristic nature isn’t what being sensed; therefore, they can’t finally understand.”

16.2.27 无断无灭 No Severance No Extinction

佛告观世音:于汝意云何?如来以三千威仪八万四千细行诸相具足现证无上正等觉耶?善现!汝今勿当作如是观,何以故?善现!如来不以诸相具足现证无上正等菩提。

复次,善现!如是发趣菩萨乘者,颇施设少法若坏若断耶?善现!汝今勿当作如是观。诸有发趣菩萨乘者,终不施设少法若坏若断。

Buddha told Guanyin Bodhisattva: According to your intent, what say you? Can Tathagata use “Perfect Phenomenal Fulfillment of 3,000 Majesties 84,000 Enchantments” to presently prove “Non-Upper Correct-Equality Correct-Enlightenment”? Benevolence Manifestation! Now, you shouldn’t make thus view, wherein? Benevolence Manifestation! Tathagata can’t by “Perfect Phenomenal Fulfillment” to presently prove “Non-Upper Correct-Equality Correct-Enlightenment”.

Again next, Benevolence Manifestation! To those aroused interest to Bodhisattva Vehicle, do they set up minor laws as severance or extinction? Benevolence Manifestation! Now, you shouldn’t make thus view; Bodhicitta Arousers never set up minor laws as or severance or extinction.

16.2.28 不受不贪 No Acceptance No Greed

复次,善现!若善男子或善女人,以底格里斯河沙等世界盛满七宝,奉施如来。若有菩萨于诸无我,无生法中获得堪忍,由是因缘所生福聚甚多于彼。

复次,善现!菩萨不应摄受福聚。

具寿观世音即白佛言:世尊!云何菩萨不应摄受福聚?

佛言:善现!所应摄受,不应摄受,是故说名所应摄受。

Again next, Benevolence Manifestation! Such as a benevolent man or a faithful woman uses Tigris River sands number of worlds fulfilled by seven treasures to charitably donate to Tathagata. And such as a faithful man or a benevolent woman on the non-I law, non-birth law, achieves able to countenance; due to the very cause, he or she bears more fortunate aggregates than the earlier.

Again next, Benevolence Manifestation! Bodhisattvas shouldn’t assimilate and enjoy fortunate aggregates.

Full life Guanyin immediately addressed Buddha: Social Honor! What is to say Bodhisattvas shouldn’t assimilate and enjoy fortunate aggregates?

Buddha said: Benevolence Manifestation! Those should be assimilated and enjoyed don’t correspond to assimilation and enjoyment, therefore, saying the name of “Those Should Be Assimilated and Enjoyed”.

16.2.29 威仪寂净 Immaculately Silent Majesties

复次,善现!若言如来若去、若来、若住、若坐、若卧,一举一动悉皆具足三千威仪八万四千细行,是人不解我所说义,何以故?善现!言如来者即是真实、真如 - 增语。都无所去、无所从来,故名如来。

Again next, Benevolence Manifestation! Somebody say that Tathagata comes, goes, stands, sits, or lies down, every move he makes possesses “3,000 Majesties and 84,000 Enchantments” fully; the person does not understand what I said, wherein? Benevolence Manifestation! Saying that Tathagata is real fact, is true suchness – Escalatory Language. Going nowhere, and nowhere of coming from, hence the name Tathagata.

16.2.30 一合理相 A Combination is a Metaphysical Phenomenon

复次,善现!若善男子或善女人,乃至三千大千世界大地极微尘量等世界,即以如是无数世界色像为量如极微聚。善现!于汝意云何?是极微聚宁为多不?

观世音答言:是极微聚甚多,世尊!甚多,善逝!何以故?世尊!若极微聚是实有者,佛不应说为极微聚。所以者何?如来说极微聚即为非聚,故名极微聚。如来说三千大千世界即非世界,故名三千大千世界,何以故?世尊!若世界是实有者,即为一合执,如来说一合执即为非执,故名一合执。

Again next, Benevolence Manifestation! Such as a benevolent man or a faithful woman, up to Three-Grand Great-Grand Worlds Lands of Extremely Tinny Dusts, by which tinny dusts number of worlds’ color phenomena as quantity, Benevolence Manifestation! According to your intention, what say you? Are those quantity of Extremely Tinny Aggregates many?

Guanyin Bodhisattva answered: Those Extremely Tinny Aggregates are very many, Social Honor! Much Many! Benevolent Renunciation! Wherein? Social Honor! If extremely tiny aggregates are factually haves, Tathagata wouldn’t say those are extremely tiny aggregates, wherein? Tathagata said extremely tiny aggregates exactly aren’t extremely tiny aggregates, hence name “Extremely Tiny Aggregates”. Tathagata said that Three-Grand Great-Grand Worlds are exactly not worlds, hence the name “Three-Grand Great-Grand Worlds”, wherein? Social Honor! If the world is a factual have, then it is a combinative obsession, Tathagata said, a combinative obsession is exactly not an obsession, hence the name “One Combinative Obsession”.

16.2.31 知见不生 Non-Birth of Know and View

佛言:善现!此一合执不可言说,不可戏论,然彼一切愚夫异生强执是法,何以故?善现!若作是言,如来宣说我见、有情见、命者见、士夫见、竹马见、意生见、儒童见、作者见、受者见;善现!于汝意云何?如是所说为正语不?

观世音答言:不也,世尊!不也,善逝!如是所说非为正语,所以者何?如来所说我见、有情见、命者见、士夫见、竹马见、意生见、儒童见、作者见、受者见,即为非见,故名我见乃至受者见。

佛告观世音:诸有发趣菩萨乘者,于一切法应如是知,应如是见,应如是信解,如是不住法想,何以故?善现!法想法想者,如来说为非想,是故如来说名法想法想。

Buddha said: Benevolence Manifestation! The one combinative obsession is unspeakable, no joke, but those mundane fools and mutants stubbornly hold it as law, wherein? Benevolence Manifestation! If saying that Tathagata preaches, I view, sentient view, living view, warrior view, hobbyhorse view, intent born view, Abel view, creator view, acceptor view, Benevolence Manifestation! According to your intention, what say you? Are thus sayings correct languages?

Guanyin Bodhisattva answered: No, Social Honor! Not! Benevolent Renunciation! Thus, sayings aren’t correct languages, wherein? What Tathagata said I view, sentient view, living view, warrior view, hobbyhorse view, intent born view, Abel view, creator view, acceptor view, are non-views, hence the names “I” view, up to acceptor view.

Buddha told Guanyin Bodhisattva: Bodhicitta Arousers, on all laws, should know like this, should view like this, should faithfully interpret like this, thus, don’t dwell on juristic think, wherein? Benevolence Manifestation! Juristic think juristic think, Tathagata says, isn’t think, therefore, Tathagata says the names Juristic Think Juristic Think.

16.2.32 应化非真 Should Ferry Non-Real

复次,善现!若菩萨摩诃萨以无量无数世界盛满七宝,奉施如来应正等觉。若善男子或善女人,于此《到达方舟经》中乃至四段文句,受持、读诵、究竟通利、如理作意,及广为他宣说、开示,由此因缘所生福聚,甚多于前无量无数。云何为他宣说、开示?如不为他宣说、开示,故名为他宣说、开示。

尔时,世尊而说颂曰:诸和合所为,如星翳灯幻,露泡梦电云,应作如是观。

时,佛说是经已。观世音菩萨及诸和尚、尼姑、近事男、近事女,并诸世间天、人、阿修罗等,闻佛所说经已,皆大欢喜,信受奉行。

Again next, Benevolence Manifestation! Such as a Bodhisattvas or Mahasattvas uses innumerable worlds fulfilled by seven treasures to charitably donate to Tathagata. Another case, such as a gentleman or gentlewoman, on this Philosopher-Stone Arrival Ark Sutra, even down to four sections, accepts, holds, reads, recites, finalizes to benefits, makes intents accordingly, up to preach broadly, exemplify; due to the cause, he or she bears much more fortunate aggregates than the earlier innumerably boundlessly. What is to preach, exemplify? Such as not to preach and exemplify for them, hence the name “To Preach and Exemplify for Them”.

At that time, Social Honor sang a song: establishments based on combinations, should be viewed like blemishes on stars, light’s phantoms, dews, bubbles, dreams, lightnings, and clouds; one should make thus views.

At the time, Buddha finished saying of the sutra. Guanyin Bodhisattva, and monks, nuns, laymen, laywomen, mundane skies, humans, asuras, etc., after hearing what Buddha said, all joyfully celebrated, gained never heard, faithfully accepted, humbly migrated on.
